Sounds logical to me... (Hmmm....   NA$CAR doing something logical???   That's pretty suspicious...)

When there's a tie for 10th place qualifying the results show positions as -

8th
9th
10th
10th
12th
...

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY . . .

When I go to casinos, the most ridiculous sign I see is the one that says:
"If you have a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER."

So, I call them and say,
"I have an ace and a six. The dealer has a seven. What do I do?"

I HATE this new rule.  There is no such thing as a tie.  If Martin and Kahne both have the same points, you should go to who won the most races, then who got the most second place finishes, etc.  If you don't like that idea, how about you have a 75 lap tie breaking race immediately following the Richmond race?

This whole thing is just to keep more people interested because one more driver will be in the chase.  I'm not a fan of the chase anyway.  How Busch ever became champ still infuriates me.  For all you JG haters, Jeff would have his 5th championship if they had used the old system, by the way.  The point should be the best driver for a whole year.  Anyone can have bad luck in one or two races and still do well over a season, but you're about cooked if you do it in a 10 race season.

I hate points racing.  There should be bigger points than they currently give for finishing in the top 5 and no points for finishing below 35.  Either that or maybe give 43 for finishing first and one for finishing last, then give a three point bonus for first and a two point bonus for leading at least five laps during a race.  It always bugs me to see a guy give a teammate the lead for one lap.

Well, they've trying to figure out a way to get more in to spice things up every year...I find myself hoping Kasey Kahne can make it in...but not at the expense of Mark, of course, Mark's my only guy to root for for the Championship this season, since Carl's now locked out...and it's the last chance I have to see Mark get the Championship he so richly deserves. On a program on XM they are promoting a points system that gives 50 point bonus for winning and the same points for 30 and below.  Kasey Kahne would be in the top 10, but not that deep before Calif.

Interesting that the championship last year under this points system would have been...

COUSIN CARL!!!!!!!!

How do you like this system BB?

Typical NASCAR kneejerk reaction.  There's a tie for tenth right now in the Busch Series, so thay saw that, went, Oh, S**t, what if that happens in Cup after Richmond!?!" and came up with this.  They're also desperate to have more than ten get in, so they'll do what they can.  It's kind of silly, but not really a big deal one way or the other...
