Brewco Motorsports Inc. today announced that
Casey Atwood
, the original driver of Brewco’s #27 NASCAR Busch Series entry, will once again take over driving duties of the car for a few races, beginning with the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond. Atwood takes over for former Busch Series Champion David Green, who joined Brewco in 2003 and has served as the driver of the #27 Kleenex Ford 2005. “We thank David for his commitment to Brewco for the last few years and wish him well for the future.” said Clarence Brewer Jr., team owner and Brewco founder.(Brewco PR

Casey had good gear and couldn't get it done. He has talent, but does he have enough?
Whenever I think about drivers who were given a chance and didn't make anything happen, I think of how Brendan Gaughan did an ok job but was let go anyway. There is one guy I wish I could see on Sunday (or Saturday night). He is certainly better than most of the guys from 40 to 25 in the points right now. Oh well, nobody said life was always fair.
As for Casey Atwood, I wish him all the luck and success. He seems like a nice enough guy.

Jeeze, what the heck did David Green do?
As I recall, he got Brewco to the banquet every year since he's been there, including fighting for the championship in the last race in 2003. There's a fine how-do-you-do. And they think Atwood's going to be some miracle save-all? They might want to take a look at those entry lists and the money in 'em to see why Green might not be doing as well this year. Atwood, I wish him luck, but he's not the miracle that team probably wants to believe he is, and this is just garbage for Green.

I agree with Duster...
Thats a kick in the shorts for Green...
Always competitive... sure he's getting a little older,.. but still ran up front.
Only reason I see he wasn't up front this season was 20+ CUP guys racing every week.
He finished 26th in the last BGN race,... but
16
of those guys were
CUP
guys,.. otherwise he would have finished in the top 10
Kinda hard when you are a single car BGN team to compete with multi-million,
Muilt-car
CUP teams
I think Atwood was (is still) probably a good driver,... but I don't think he can do any more with a car then Green did.
As far as Smylers comments about B Gaughan,... I kinda
DIS
agree there.
I helped on a crew on the CTS when he raced. He's kinda a "poor rich kid" who got everything he ever wanted. True he's a 'decent' driver,.. but daddy sponsored him (Orleans was daddys casino)... so all he had to do was say "gimme" and he got it.
Never seemed like he had to work for anything he ever got,... and never seemed to appreciate it either.
It would of just been
nice
to seem him
EARN
something he got... but like you say Smyler... I guess life's not fair.
I guess IMO Gaughn showed his true colors in Homestead when he got crashed and he lost the championship, and he said on TV "Smith can kiss my ass"
Just another example of how he acted. He played it up pretty good for the cameras,.. but those of us in the pits who saw him on a day to day basis,.. we knew his whining, crybaby attitude, and though just because "he wanted",.. he thought he should "get".
Was nice to see him let his guard down and show it on national TV...

Wasn't that race where gaughan cussed on tv wasn't that 1 of the most wildest truck races and 1 of the most wildest finishes ever to a truck race didn't it take 30 minutes and maybe more for nascar to figure out who the champion was going to be i thought their for awhile they weren't going to figure it out that day.
