I liked the chase from the beginning, and it's just goes to show that it takes consistancy to make the chase.

I'm absolutely not a fan of the system as it sits.  At least reward guys for finishing first.  Isn't that what racing is all about?

Maybe Kasey should have read the memo given out at the beginning of the year on how the points system works?   Grin

Seriously, a season in one of the three upper divisions in NASCAR is more like a marathon than a sprint.  Kasey has proven himself to be really good at sprinting - he needs to work on pacing himself - or learning how to get the most out of his car on the days when he's not running up front.

Every point is worth something - no matter what system you use.  But if a driver is going to have a "hero or zero" mentality, he's going to pay for it in terms of consistency.  Like anything else, the point system is a compromise.  They're all playing by the same rules.  If Kasey misses the Chase it means that Mark Martin and/or Jeff Burton played by the current rules better than Kasey did. Smiley
