Hope no one minds...
But i wanted to have a copy of the points SOMEWHERE so I (we) could keep track of what is going on from now until the end of the year...
Soon (probably by now) Nascar will post the points with all the top 10 guys added points and the 5 points increments.
I ALWAYS find myself looking for the OLD points so I can figure would what "might have been"
Here's the ACTUAL points after race #26... I'm sure I'll have to come back and adjust it after they pop Jeff Green to running into J Johnson under yellow (something they never did show last night on TNT)  SO I suspect a fine and points penalty.  Even though they parked Green for the night.

Thanks Chris...are you gonna do the math each week to see how it would have been?  I always mean to do it, but I don't ever find the time.

not so sure I'll do it "every" week,...
But I wanted for everyone to be able to find it somewhere...
Once Nascar changes it,.. it's about impossible to find.

No kidding.

We're not supposed to remember that 11th might not have to be 11th. But eh. I'm still waiting to see what make Jeff Green's on-purpose hit so much worse than the other two-dozen or so we've seen this year.

Mind if I try to do the numbers some weeks, if I get to it monday afternoon and on one's done it yet?

feel free Duster... just jump in.
when I get a chance I plan on making an Excel file to do it,.. but may take a little while... and what with the pool I run, of course that will take first priority.

As far as GREENS penalty... strange to me how we have Green get totally PARKED (I guess because nascar sees him as a "Nobody") and we have all these other instances of guys wrecking guys, spinning people out, a champ wreck someone on purpose, OTHER guys hit drivers under yellow,  and in MOST cases NOT ONLY are they NOT PARKED,.. in most cases no penalty is issued at all...
Guess it's just who ya know, and who ya blow...

I though Mark Spoor said it as well as anyone could.
Quote
Let's see -- in just the past few months we've had a two-time champion taking hard lefts into other drivers at top speed, a former Chase driver deliberately plowing into another superstar during a cool-down lap and countless cases of other top-name drivers using questionable tactics to win races.

And that is what gets someone parked for aggressive driving? It was a tap after Johnson had been spun -- by someone else.

As has been said in this column before, preferential treatment for superstars in nothing new in professional sports. However, when it goes the other way for someone who is, uh ... not a superstar, that's a different story.

Any further penalty Green receives that is over and above what others have gotten for similar offenses should be appealed -- and overturned

Points this week: Assuming I did my math right, the standings would be as follows

1 Matt Kenseth           3924
2 Jimmie Johnson        3774
3 Kevin Harvick           3671
4 Denny Hamlin           3513
5 Jeff Gordon              3491
6 Tony Stewart       3473
6 (7) Kyle Busch               3473
6 (8 ) Jeff Burton              3473
9 Mark Martin              3471
10 Dale Earnhardt Jr.     3462
11 Kasey Kahne        3434
12 Greg Biffle            3160
13 Carl Edwards       3120
14 Kurt Busch            2934
15 Casey Mears        2915
16 Ryan Newman      2880
17 Clint Bowyer         2846
18 Brian Vickers         2834
19 Jamie McMurray     2798
20 Elliott Sadler         2789

I only did 20 because 11th on back are as listed on NOL's site anyway. The most interesting part to me? Check out sixth place. I put seventh and eighth in parenthasis because i believe that's the order they would actually be awarded positions based on number of wins.

Edited because I know Jeff Burton is cool, but the 8 in parenthesis is more useful Smiley

I wish we had the old system!  Only thing I'd change is more points for first place.  Good work.

I just realized I had saved this in favorites...it doesn't do Owner points, but will this save you time?  It's from a couple of years ago...

Wow, I love that link.  It's hard to believe that NASCAR allows us to look at things the way they used to be.  They are all about the NEW NASCAR and don't seem to give a rip about tradition, think Darlington and the Rock.  Anyway, thanks for the link.

I think it was from 2004, when they actually let us see those things.  I could never find it, so I saved it.  I forgot all about it until I read these posts.  I'm just glad it still works - because with NOL, you never know!!  Grin
