GG's kin remain a mystery (must run in the family Smiley)
Whoever notified me didn't say anything more than, they thought I'd want to know about his passing. I have written back twice, asking them to please contact me when they had time.( I figured they'd be emotionally unable at the time, not to mention they may have been busy making  arrangements ) I do have his Mom's phone  number, but I think she is elderly and I'm not sure if I should risk upsetting her, trying to explain who I am and how I knew her son. I know he had a siblings, but I don't have names.
In my last email to them, I shared a few of my memories and conversations with GG.
I also sent a link to FS, and told them they were welcome to visit to see what GG's friends had posted. And that if they wanted to post back, they'd have to join, but they were more than welcome to do that.
All I can do now is wait and hope they get back in touch.
I have so many questions, and I'd like his family to know how much we cared about GG and that we will miss him too.

There are a couple of pictures that GG took , maybe we should get em moved (or coppied) on this thread, if we are going to keep it a tribute? I am going to see if I can track down a few GGissums to paste here too.

What I can do is merge this topic with the topic you started to let us all know.  Then the two threads will become one, and all posts in both places will be put somewhere safe.

Ros --- I'd give it some time and then call his mom.
I think she'd be pleased to hear from you --- and you could read her the posts we've written.

Can you use a reverse phone book to get an address?

I heard from a family member this morning, he promised to get back tome when he had a little more time.  I will pass on any thing I think y'all would like to know.

He also gave me GG's Mom's address. If anyone would like to send her a card, PM me and I'll give you the address. I think it would be nice for her to know he had friends all across this country.

Ros,
Please don't say "pass on".
Folks might be sensitive about those words right now.
Ya reckon?

I'd sure appreciate it if you'd PM me Green Griffen's mom's address.
I think I have somethin' to say to her, even though I'm at a loss for words.
Imagine that.

And, as for Green Griffen having cyber friends "all across the country" ----
I'm thinkin' it goes beyond that.
Possibly all across the Universe.

Calling all saucers!
Calling all saucers!
Now hear this -----------------------

Make ready for a Missing Man Formation fly-over in honor of our missing cyber friend
Green Griffen.
And make it your Sunday BEST.
Display the colored lights so bright. Northern Lights dancin' in flight, ..... all around and on the ground -- without a sound of silence.
Green Grifen deserves no less.
Peace In Rest. Eternally.

One journey's end is another journey's beginning.
Long live the memory of Green Griffen --- our cyber friend 'till the end, never ending.

Git 'er done!
That is all.

Carry on.

GG played so many Fantasy sports it would make your head spin.........

I only play Nascar, but that guy played football, hockey, basketball, baseball, Formula 1 fantasy racing.

I'll put the word out at as many websites that I can that he will no long be competing and why.

I just heard about GG (TY Ros).....Sent me instantly in memory back to the days of our Fanball auctions (even though at my East vs. West Yahoo league he's sill today listed as an active playerE=MC#3 currently at 39/47 players)...Back in our Possum/Fanball.com days he would steal the quarters off my eyes and JG every chance he got in the closing 1 or 2 seconds of an auction, but he taught me how to actually play that game...And how to make sure I built the fastest computer around too because I needed it to even have a chance to beat him in the game. Then NASCAR.com stole (actually bought), the game and killed it for us all by changing the auctions to an annual contest instead of weekly multiple auctions. Those were the best of times, and the worst of times.

Some of us never understood a word he typed, and some of us understood every word.....Just don't ask us to repeat it.

W/ GG it was more a feeling, more of a mutual respect...but always an understanding. Rest in Peace our Fanball Possum Brother GG...Green...The Griffen...E=MC2...E=MC#3. Those were DaleSterling days.....The Great Possum story lives forever...the rest of us perish in an instant. But GG will be remembered by those of us who knew him in cyberland.

GreenGriffen was one of the Best at Bid2play at fanball.

You knew as soon as you got grouped with him that week, you were in for a hell of a battle those last 2 minutes.

He would run what I like to call block teams, or trash teams just to mess up your possible High ranked team.

You would have to possibly play 20 teams a year at Bid2play to be ranked in the top 100 with just one of them.

Those were some intense auctions, but so much fun because we were all here at the same time. It could get cut throat but no one got mad. I loved Fan Ball. Remember Rudy?
GG didn't mess around, he was heart attack serious when it came to his games. I don't know if he was still able to play the one he was into at Gindis, but I got the feeling he was kicking butt there too.
Fun times, lasting friendships were forged around those games.

I am Betty, Rick(GG's) Mom.

My tears flowed as I read the messages. Thank you all.
I feel that he is here on his site and hope you keep it open for a little while longer.
Thanks for the lovely suggestion of keeping a site for him as a memorial
It was like joining him once again in his fav. time out with his regular smoking Buddy.... me  Wink

Thank you Roswell, for sharing this part of Ricks life.  My son's last email to you was "Winston Cup?" while he was here with me and still able to enjoy a good sports event on TV.

I'm so glad you came here, Betty. Welcome. And rest assured, if we have anything to say about it, this will be here for a long, long time. Your son will be missed here, too.
