For those of you that don't have time to read the main page (www.frontstretch.com) on a regular basis, here's where our polls come from:

Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s the Call? Each week, two of your favorite Frontstretch writers will duke it out in a debate concerning one of NASCAR’s big controversies. Don’t let us be the only ones to speak our minds, though…be sure to read both sides and let us know what you think about the situation in the comment section below!

Let's hear what you think...cause I have a feeling this could be a fun one to talk about. Smiley

Remember the episode of Seinfeld where he wore the puffy shirt?  That is what I think of this whole chase format.  It was forced on us and now we are wearing it because we said we would, not because we like it.  As long as Brian Froglegs is in charge of NASCAR, we are going to be stuck with this unfair system.  How can either Matt or Jimmy not be in first or second right now?  How is it even theoretically possible that Jeff Burton could be the champ this year?  One bad race CAN ruin your chances in the chase.

Again, theoretically, someone could finish 8th in every race and be champ.  Irritating!  It's not about being the best, just the most consistant for a short period of time.  I know some will say you are the best if you are consistant, but how does wiping away 2/3 of the season help prove consistancy?  Right now 3 guys are tied for 6 under the old rules.  That would have been a ton more exciting than this circus because we do care about more than just 10 drivers and even if you don't like Tony Stewart you have to admit he should have the spotlight on him now, instead of fighting for table scraps.

Ok, got that out of my system.

Well.. "Can the first race..."
SURE it CAN.... all someone has to do is just run consistent and have top 10 or 15 finishes every week, and it will automatically eliminate someone that finished in the 40th place.

WILL it,.. probably not... not that likely to happen... but it IS possible.
I figure everyone will have a bad race... Even at Dega you can finish on the lead lap and finish 35th.
