Erm... I don't think any driver has an obligation to help any other driver win a championship. If they want to, fine. But obligation?Pfft.

Prolly woullda been parked right then and there but...I still mighthave done it when my worst fears/suspicions became relaized.

Yep,.. just goes to show,.. another perfect example of Jeffy whining...
If he's not whining about his competitors,.. now he's whining about his own team members.
Just typical Jeff Gordon.

Boy's gonna have to learn,.. when you race,.. you have to PASS<... it's not called "pulling over and letting everyone by".  He's been watching too many AMERIQUEST Commericals... hehehehehe  HAHAHAHHAA

I don't blame Brian for not pulling over for Jeff to pass him at NH one bit...if he GETS to him and can get under him, it's one thing...but I think now all bets are off. Brian just needs to race Jeff like he would any other driver. Jeff hasn't earned ANY more than that, even if he DID get into the Chase this year... Roll Eyes

I'm SOOOO glad Brian is getting out of there, even if it IS for a lesser team...he was being overlooked there, just because he hasn't won a race yet.

Jeff used to be a lot more willing to take chances than he is now.  He used to simply drive around or do a "rattle his cage" deal like Earnhardt used to do.  Now, people get so upset at those bumps that you don't seem em like you did ten years ago.  When you do it is a big deal and we talk about it all week.  If Jeff does it he is called a dirty driver.  If any non HMS driver does it, he is called a throwback to how it used to be and everyone laughs about it.  There is no such thing as fairness on this issue.

As for him asking Vickers to move out of the way.  I'm a 24 fan and I have to admit that was kind of pansy.  I wish we could just see the fire that he used to have.  Take a chance.  Take a cue from Carl or Jimmy and make that move to the outside.  I know, the main reason they don't do it is this darned chase format.  It forces drivers to drive "safer" which could be translated as boring.

Jeff may win championship number 5 this year.  I sure hope he wins at least a couple races, if he does.  I also hope we see some excitement, like we saw from JB and MK at Dover.  That was COOOOOL!!!  Jeff can still drive that way.  It'd be fun to see him do it.

LOL I dont get where you all get this idea that Jeff told or said that Vickers should move over for him. Cause he never said that

Also I dont get how you can blame Jeff for feeling like Brian is but isnt a teammate when Brian isnt allowed into certain meetings since hes leaving for Toyota.

Plove WELCOME!!

Re: Vickers.. was told to "Let Him  (Gordon) Pass!"
Who "requested"  it last Sunday specifically remains to be seen, BUT,JG HAS indeed asked drivers (teamates and others) to move over. Imploring that NASCAR MAKE them move over or black flag them, and, almost expecting they should just because in most cases IMO. Thats just lame, I dont care who you are! Angry

Vickers has NEVER been on equal footing at HMS to the Superstar Pretty boy JG IMHO. And there is no way in hades that Gordon, or Rick Hendrick considers Vickers anywhere even close to his level.

My $.02

Yeah,.. You're a 100% right Blu,...
I know in previous (recent even) races they have played the audio from Gordons radio chatter where he has told his spotter to go and tell a certain driver to move over so he could pass  (ROFLOL... Like he is supposed to just be able to be given a free pass and not EARN it)
I've also even heard him say some guy he was racing should be black flagged (and they were racing for position (not a lap down car)
First of all you DO NOT show a car the black flag for 'racing',... he only gets the 'move over flag,.. and thats IF he is a lap down.  and even that is just a "Suggestion" that they should.

The fact that Vickers does NOT attend team meeting I'm sure is NOT because he don't want to.  He is being SHUT OUT of team meeting becauses because they are afraid he will take some (new) team secrets over to TOYOTA with him.
Fact is Vickers is STILL Part of the MHS family and he is working as hard (or harder) than an driver on the team to get Rick a win.  Even though he is leaving he is there 100% for HMS, and he should be given as good as equipment as possible, and 100% from the team.  NOT treated like a 2nd class citizen.  I'm not so sure thats happening now.

Thanks for the welcome. Gordon did not ask Vickers to move over. Steve his CC didnt nor his spotter. Vickers team did how ever tell Vickers to let Gordon pass cause at the time Vickers was holding up them both and Gordon was running the fastest laps on the track. While Vickers was using up his stuff trying to hold Gordon up.

As far as has Gordon done this in the past Sure he has, So has everyone else out there on the track. Spotters do this all the time this is nothing new. I dont get the bashing Jeff for doing something that every single other driver out on that track has done and will do again.

Personaly I think its the 25 car itself. Rick gives them all the same equipment and the same chances. Brian was very close to his son Rick and wouldnt in a million years give Brian bum equpiment just cause. That car has had trouble no matter who is driving. Personaly I think they should start over with a brand new number lol and shake that jinix that everyone has delt with on that car

Go find one big name Corp that knows an employee is leaving for another big name corp that doesnt shut that person out to a certain degree to keep them from being able to take trade secrets to the other corp lol Go find one good luck doing that HMS is no differnt for doing that

Most would have been paid out their contract so that didnt happen but Brian didnt have any place else to go and race and Rick wouldnt do that to Brian but NO that isnt a factor in any of this now is it

That does not mean that Brian and Jeff and Jimmie and Kyle arent still very close friend off the track and that doesnt mean that Brian doesnt understand that. I dont think anyone here can speak for what Brian does nor doesnt know or what he really is or isnt doing

Cause they are both very logical

It may be LOGICAL for drivers to WISH a competitor one driver was racing with for position would just pull over and let him by,.. but in reality,.. it just don't work that way.
I been on the Nascar racing curcuit,.. and saw about all there is to see.

Now a car coming up to LAP a car,.. yeah I can see that... but Gordon is always whining about a car he is racing with FOR POSITION>
When you race for position,.. you gotta EARN that position... you don't go WHINING for someone to just pull over and let you buy,.. and thats something Gordon is doing more and more of.  Thats also something I RARELY ever hear ANY of the other guys do,... THAT my friend is why Gordon gets laughed at so much... because HE is the only one doing it.
Whats even FUNNIER,.. he actually EXPECTS the other drivers to DO it... HAHAHHAHA
