IMO The Obvious Choice

I see the announcement came out today. Ragan named to drive the #6 AAA Ford in 2007.
Of the four possible Roush guys,.. I think this was the
obvious
choice. David just seems to do well, and adapt quickly to anything he gets into.
Wish him the best in the races he has left in 2006,.. and all of 2007.
Ragan named to drive the #6 AAA Ford in 2007
: Roush Racing today announced that David Ragan will be the full-time driver of the team's flagship #6 AAA Ford Fusion in 2007. The #6 has been the foundation of the Roush Racing stable, dating back to Jack Roush's beginning into NASCAR's premier series in 1988. "We are very pleased to have David Ragan going into the #6 AAA Ford Fusion next season," said Jack Roush. "David is a driver with outstanding talent and as a result of his actions he is the young man I selected to fill the seat. The #6 is obviously a special car to me personally and this organization and we are confident in David's ability to step up and get the job done." Ragan currently shares the #6 Scotts Ford with Mark Martin [in the Truck Series] and also pilots the #50 Roush Racing Ford [in the Truck Series]. Ragan started his first career Nextel Cup race at Dover three weeks ago. He is set to make four more starts in the Nextel Cup Series in 2006 and will make his first start in the #6 AAA Ford in next season's famed Daytona 500. "This is a tremendous opportunity and I look forward to racing on behalf of AAA's millions of loyal members in 2007. Obviously, I've got big shoes to fill and quite a legacy to follow, but I look forward to the challenge and the next chapter of the #6 race team," said Ragan. "AAA has great confidence in Jack Roush and his entire organization, including their selection of David Ragan as the promising new driver of the #6 AAA car," said Kristin Warfield, director AAA Motorsports. We look forward to cheering David on as he competes in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup racing for the first time, and to introducing him to our members and other race fans at tracks and special appearances throughout the coming year." Ragan has one pole and six top-10 finishes in 15 starts in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2006. He will make his next Cup start at Martinsville Speedway on October 22nd.

I "thought" I'd buy a Pony Car from Mark's dealership if he wins the championship.
Might have to change that to a Corvette.
AfterShock in a GM product?!
Bring your cameras and make sure y'all got film.
That'll be one for the record books.
I haven't owned a GM product since I was 16. (A few years ago)

Somehow I had a feeling David was going to get the chance despite even less seat time than Todd...Todd was just NOT working out. Half way through his Truck season a few years back, Jack had to tell him to start producing or he was going to be out of the truck, so he improved...all along Jack had HIM pegged to replace Mark, but he just hasn't performed like they hoped. Ragan may not have that much seat time, but my gut tells me (the same part of the body that tells me if I should be walking or running when it comes to admitting patients, not wanting to have babies in the hallway...
) that David is going to perform better.
Congratulations to Daviid.
And don't worry....It won't become "Mark Martin Chevy" anytime soon!!

lets see first things first...
I think Ragan will drive some in the #6 truck as he has off and on this season. He's give it a pretty good ride when he drove it. (In short I think things will go on as scheduled)
Not many CTS races left,.. and Ragan has some CUP races left,.. so not sure how things are scheduled??
STill think we'll see 'em both in the #6 truck before the year is out.

uuhh,.. no I don't think so.
I think he'll pull a lot of double duty between BGN abd CUP so Jack can get him as much seat time as possible.
