nope nope nope,...
If they ALL gonna race on the same track together,... then they ALL should be in the same points distribution together....
If the top 10 want their 'own' points,.. then just let them have their 'own' race just among themselves.

They raced all year long with 43 cars on the track to DETERMINE who made the chase (or top 10),.. no sense to go doing something different with the points when the chase starts.

I pretty much feel the same way.  If the chasers were given a different points system, then why let the other 33 drivers race?  Then we'd just watch the same 10 guys race each other every week..how exciting....NOT!!  Other drivers' mistakes are there through all 36 races...not just the last 10.

I personally would not enjoy watching races with just 10 cars in them. Besides, the other 33 cars add challenge. How would you change the points system for the Chasers?? Not necessary...it's not like a car outside the top 10 who runs better than some of the ones inside the top 10 in the Chase races can get in, anyway.

The points system format back in the day wasn't broken. Just needed minor adjustments -- like additional points for the winner so that second place leading the most laps wouldn't be the same as the winner's. Ten -- fifteen -- maybe 25 points additional to the winner.

But Brian "fixed" it. Created a new format claiming it was all for the fans. Even though over 60 percent of the fans said otherwise and around 20 or 30 percent said they didn't know or had no opinion either way. So, it seems in Brian's mind 15 to 25 percent equals a majority.

It was shoved down our throats while the powers that be NA$CAR insisted it was all done for the fans. Hinting at minor tweaks, the format was drastically changed during the off-season. Dealing from the bottom of the deck if you ask me. No way was it an honest attempt to make racing better. Nope.
Follow the Money Trail.

What bothers me most about Brian is he seems to think the fans who have made his family wealthy -- are morons. Tell 'em anything, then do whatever they want, all in the name of "entertainment". Ain't a "sport" anymore according to Brian.

What Brian really wants is to own his own football team. I think he'll be the laughing stock in the football world, but I won't be surprised when Brian sells NA$CAR as a turn key operation to Japan.
Mark my words folks.

Depending on how "fixed" is defined, as in a repair, or as in controlling the outcome, Brian just might be correct when he states, "I fixed NA$CAR racing."
Now I hope SOMEbody "fixes" Brian. Pick your favorite definition.

Brian likes to have complete control it seems. Even to the point of controling what happens out on the track. Personally, I don't think Brian has any interest in the actual racing, ---- just what appears on the bottom line, ie -- P R O F I T S.
And THAT ain't racin' -- but it DOES "rub" -- me the wrong way.

I can't imagine Daddy France isn't slapping his forehead and going, "DoAH!!
But, as long as the bottom line is well in the black, I doubt he'll call Brian on the carpet. Unless he's still alive when NA$CAR implodes and falls down on top of itself.
When -- and if -- those bottom numbers turn red, ol' Bill might re-awaken and take control back from his football dreaming son.

Couldn't have said it better myself Aftershock. Brian isn't worried about anything but the money. Lastnight someone was talking about Nascar's safety and how lousy it was. Nascar is the biggest in motorsport's so why do they have the worst safety. I watch Champ,NHRA,F-1 and when there is a crash they are on the scene before the car is completely stopped. I paid attention to tonight's crashes and I was shocked Shocked. I know that they have to wait for the car's to slow down but they took out racing back to the yellow. I think Brian should take some of that Football money and invest in some type of safety upgrade's. And now that Toyota is coming to Nascar I wouldn't be surprised if he does sale it.

If this were about racing, I"d say no. But the chase has nothing to do with "racing" or "Fairness" or "integrity" so why not? It's about entertainment once these last 10 races hit, and points wise it's impossible to deny it would be more "Entertaining" if there were closer point spreads. At least, objectively. Smiley It's still hard to use the "C" word with the guys who win on this system as it is, so....
