Hey All!!! Is it just me or is Nascar getting a little to STUPID with the penalties? I was shocked when Nascar sent Newman to the rear for
AGGRESIVE
driving. From where I was sitting I didn't really see anything that doesn't happen at Martinsville twice a year. If what I saw was aggresive then why have the Five point Harness,Helmet,Hans You see where I am going with this I hope. It's going to get like F-1. Whenever the car's get close the commentator's are going to scare the fan's at home to death LOL. How else are these Driver's supposed to put on a great show or more importantly WIN Races.

yeah,.. I saw all that that went on,...
but I was on the phone for a few minutes,.. so I didn't pick up if it was AFTER (or a replay and BEFORE) Newman punted Mears.
I know they were racing together, and Newman spun Mears,... then later it showed Newman beating and banging on mears (not just "casual" hit) but moved down a lane or more to intentionally hit Mears on the straight.
SO I guess if all that happened before hand,.. and then he ended up spinning him afterall...
YEAH I can see them moving him to the tail of the line.
Why him benefit for roughing up someone so MUCH he eventually wrecks a guy.
It's kinda like the old weekly short track rule, "If you spin out a guy,.. the guy that spins, AND the guy that spins him out BOTH go to the rear"
This also puts them back there together, and if they want to continue to beat and bang on each other they will be out of the way of all of the other drivers... not in the middle of the pack where they could catch up unintended victims with the childishness.

I missed the race. Was this more-than-usual short track racing from both sides? From what I've heard/read/seen, it sounds like it was from Newman, but I haven't gotten the lowdown on if Mears was doing more than typical Martinsville racing. An unprovoked (or provoked by more-or-less normal racing) wrecking of a competitor sounds unlikely, but we've seen it before this year, and from some top names...
