It was announced that Bill Elliott who was planning to run in the Bass Pro Shops 500 in Atlanta with a special paint scheme celebrating his 30 years of racing has been scrapped. Red Bull Team that was said to field his car asked him to step aside so rookie A. J. Allmendinger could drive. Elliott will drive the #37 Dodge of Toccoa-based R&J Racing.
