I though this would be something different and i hope it's not to Corny. Basiclly just write down your favorite moment in Nascar. I will use mine as an example.
My favorite was when R.Wallace won the Championship in 1989 and he jumped ontp the hood of his car and just about went thru it.
It could also be about a driver winning so many races in a row. Whatever your favorite moment was or is.

Favorite moments in racing hmm that's a hard one there have been so many good moments in racing to really just pick one.

That race you mentioned i just watched the other day the 1 where rusty jumped from the roof of his car down to the hood and than down to the pavement.

Dale sr. just dominated that race although kenny schrader briefly passed him for the lead.

Rusty actually fell 4 or 5 laps down and nearly lost the championship.

He had all kinds of problems that day before the problems started he was in the top 10.

He had flat tires loose lugnuts all kinds of things went wrong that day but rusty just barely managed to win the championship there were 3 drivers going for the championship that day rusty wallace dale earnhardt sr. and mark martin mark blew an engine it caused a big fireball to comeout of his car.

Roush said they had nothing to lose so he decided to run high rpm's and see if they could win the race and the championship.

My favorite moment in racing was when Smoke won at the Brickyard. A close second though is when I saw him win the Busch race at Daytona this year. Nothing like being at the track when your fav driver wins. Wink

I dont know...probably when Jeff Gordon won the Coca Cola 600 back in 1994.  Being the brand new Jeff Gordon fan that I was it was exciting.  Since then it was probably Bristol when Kurt Busch did his first snow angel Smiley

oh,.. nothing beats seeing Bill Elliott come from two laps down and outrun the field to win at DEGA.
MAN that was SOME KINDA race.... I mean really; to out run the field and make up TWO LAPS with NO YELLOWS.
THAT is a strong horse....
I think they only had one yellow the entire race, and that came WAY late in the race after Elliott had already made up his laps, and took the lead....
Some kinda race... and the crowd erupted in cheers (drowned out the cars) when he passed and took the lead.
Man that was a cool race to be at...

Gee I could go on and on reminising...
Saw lots of memory making stuff live (and at home too)

Hey FHH.

That's easy.  Terry Labobte winning the last REAL Southern 500 at Darlington.

It wasn't exactly an ideal race for me.  My wife got heat exhaustion and I spent two thirds of the race in an ambulance watching her get IV fluids.  We were out in the parking lot with the AC on our car running, listening on the radio as the laps wound down.  We were about half a mile from the track and when Terry crossed the finish line, the cheers from the crowd drowned out the sound of the engines.

I was wearing a Terry Labonte tee and hat that day and, standing outside of the car waiting for our girls to come out, I must have had to "high five" a hundred race fans.

Okay, I can't compete with you guys "tall fish tales", since I haven't been watching NASCAR that long, HOWEVER, I'm not certain whether you would consider this a "great racing moment", but I have to say watching Dale Sr. crash the one that took his life!

The best NEXTEL CUP CHASE race so far...the FINAL LAP at Dega, when #25 took out both #48 and #8.

You have my permission to laugh now...LOL

Great article on Terry LaBonte.  I particularly liked the story about him having the Kellogg’s Chevy in reverse ready to ram the snot out of that cheatin’ little weasel in the 3 car after a certain night race at Bristol.  But, the transmission was broken.  Durn!! If only….

Can you imagine?  Having swallowed his whistle on Earnhardt’s obvious decision to use to 5 car’s rear bumper instead of the 3 car's brakes, ol’ Mike “Fat Bastard” Helton could hardly ignore a post-race ramming.  For NA$CAR to penalize Terry when the fans in the grandstands were heartily booing Earnhardt would have been priceless.

Also fascinating to see that Terry once punched out Lake Speed.  And, apparently, dealt rather severely with Michael “The Mouth” Waltrip.  I would have liked to rope THAT one off and sell tickets.   Grin

Mikey was on “Trading Paint” last night shilling for NA$CAR.  It’s getting ridiculous how some of these guys roll over and suck up to the Daytona Beach mafia.  Larry Mac’s pronouncement that, in all his years as a crew chief, he had never, no NEVER, seen NA$CAR throw a debris caution just to help a team wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that he has a son coming up in racing, now would it?   Grin

Dale Earnhardt winning Daytona rates waaayyyyup there for me too.

Also, ol' D.W. doing his jig after winning at Daytona.

And ol' D.W. looking out the window at Daytona in 2001 saying, "Gosh, I hope he's alright."

First off I want to mention this:
Quote
Larry Mac’s pronouncement that, in all his years as a crew chief, he had never, no NEVER, seen NA$CAR throw a debris caution just to help a team wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that he has a son coming up in racing, now would it?
Larry Mac is too busy kissing all the WRONG asses right now.  His son is only about 10.  SO by the time he's old enough to even SIT in any type of Nascar race car,.. all the folks that are there now will be gone.
He'll have to stat over and get a new set of brown all over his lips when the new crew comes in.

One other "most memorable" I'd like to mention is when B Elliott won the FIRST Winston Million bonus.  For many of the folks that may be 'new'.. You didn't just have 'one' race where Winston put up a million bucks and if you won,.. you won the million dollars.
Nope,.. used to be WAY tougher.
You had to win THREE of the "BIG FOUR" races on the CUP series circuit.
Daytona 500, Talladega 500 (spring), Coca Cola 600, and Southern 500 (Darlington; Laborday)
Now THAT was a deal if you could pull that off.  Elliott won the first two races out of the box,... and then won the race at Darlington.  Thus earning his nickname "Million Dollar Bill"
Crowd was going wild the last several laps, cheering and urging him on, you couldn't hardly hear the cars above the cheer of the crowds.  Very VERY memorable.

I'd have to say either Terry Labonte pulling his wrecked car into Victory Lane at Bristol or Dale Earnhardt having his car roll a few times at Daytona,(Pretty sure it was Daytona), he gets out, starts walking towards the ambulance only to turn around, go back, get in his car to drive off to pitlane..that car was a wreck and a half.  Other than that anything with Dick Trickle driving... Wink

Hmmm....it'd have to be Kenny Wallace pushing Dale Earnhardt to his last victory at Talladega

Honorable Mentions:  Smoke winning NHIS after he lost his friend and rival Kenny Irwin...Jimmie Johnson's Atlanta win in 2004 after the plane crash...Gordon and Burton banging on each other to the line at Darlington...Craven and Busch banging on each other to the line at Darlington...Terry Labonte winning the last traditional Southern 500...Jimmie Johnson jumping on the roof at the Glen after he crashed  because he was simply happy to be alive...
