Hey,... just out of curosity,... where is that shop located..??  in NC (outside Mooresville)
I know he has something in Michigan also.
I know when we raced the CTS we used to go to his shop and buy used parts from his shop in NC,.. just wondered if this was it,...
Things always look different from the air....

Yep.  It is indeed the Roushketeer Compound.

It is across I-85 from Lowes Motor Speedway.

In Google Maps, just click on "Map" or "Hybrid" and back out a little.  When I've got a few more of these shops up, I may put up a map with all of them located for you tourists who will surely flock to the Charlotte area when HRH opens up the Official NA$CAR Museum.

Have we done this one yet?

Hint: This owner didn't have such a great year in his other hobby.  I wonder if he'll be coming back to NA$CAR full-time in the next few years.

JGR indeed, flame.

I tried to find RCR, particularly after the news of them hacking down a small forest to expand and ticking off the neighbors.  But, Welcome NC doesn't rate a close-up in Google Maps, so the shop is too washed out to see.

Soooo.  Here’s a Ford shop north of Charlotte:

Right you are flame.

Here's an old track mentioned in another thread.

You can’t call THIS D-shaped tri-oval a “cookie-cutter.”

That’s the Toccoa, Georgia dirt track.

I hadn’t put this shop/museum up yet.  Better do it before it’s too late.

This one wasn't meant as a quiz, flame.  I understand the need to be near Charlotte, but I hope at least the museum stays in Randleman.

However, when NA$CAR sets up the two-league system (it's gonna happen fans, as sure as there are already two France-family billionaires on Forbes' Richest Americans list), I wonder how many teams will move to KC or Fort Worth or somewhere else out west (I'm assuming there'll be a western and eastern division).

I kinda think they'll go with a "Northern" and "Southern" division,.. but whatever they call it,.. it'll be just for a name only.
If you look back I posted my thoughts on how I thought this would work about a year ago... actually for the first time on the 'old' board.  Then again here on the new board.
I think the 'divisions' will be by name only.  The tracks are too spread out, and too different to limit guys to racing "only" on the east or west coast.  Also when determining which 'best' drivers move on to the chase they need to compete on 'similar' tracks.  No big superspeedway like Daytona or Dega out west (or North).  SO do ya have 4 races for one group and none for the other..??

I'm thinking if / when this split comes they will run on the SAME tracks on different weekends.  Quite possible each division could run 20 races before they cut to the to 20 or so teams... then those that make the cut to the chase ALL go into it even.
This would give Nascar 50 CUP races a year instead of 36 they have now.  They could have one group race at one track on Saturday night,.. and the other group race somewhere else on Sunday.
They could also have double up weekend where they BOTH raced at the SAME track on the SAME weekend.  Just have one race on Saturday and the other on Sunday.  It'd be no different than a BGN / CUP weekend now.
Then Nascar would have plenty of places to race.  Add in Kentucky, the track in Canada, one in Iowa, the one in the NW if it ever gets built,.. and some of the BGN abd CTS tracks that want CUP dates.
The tracks would be happy,.. Racers would be happy (only race 30 races instead of 36),... Nascar would be happy (they;d have 50 CUP races instead of 36).... fans would be happy.
It's a win-win all the way around.

Jayski is carrying a report that Burton Smith has said he and Bob Bahre have signed a deal with a real estate company to negotiate a sale of the land on which the defunct North Wilkesboro Speedway now sits.

When I first read that, my heart sunk.  But I seem to recall Smith and Bahre wanted $12 million from Wilkes County to sell the track to them (Did I mention that Burton Smith is listed as a billionaire on Forbes list of richest people?).  Land up there in the mountains is getting pricey; a lot of retirees are moving in.  But that land couldn't be worth that much for anything other than a race track.

I hope.

I see an even bigger problem. What's going to happen when you have the Trucks, Busch, Division 1, And Division 2 all on the same weekend. The Trucks used to race on Thursday, The Busch series on Friday and Cup on Saturday when they went to Indy for the Brickyard. That was before they changed the Cup race to Sunday. And then you would have to think about Car Owners having 8, 9, or heck even a 10 car team. 5 in division 1 and 5 in division 2. I just think it would get out of hand but I never say never, It may happen but I really hope it don't.

well... I'm thinking it may happen the 'current' BGN series may have to be incorporated into the CUP series ti have enough drivers to fill the fields for both fields.
Right now you have around 60 full time CUP teams.... then you could add 25 or so more BGN teams, and everyone would get to race every weekend.
I had in mind that the CTS and Arca could be support races.

NOW if the BGN series stays around,.. you know they are looking at going to that new style car, mustangs, etc... smaller wheel base.... so BGN team are going to have to start over anyway.  SO they'll have to choose which way to go.
As it is now with 50 CUP events that'll give lots of opportunity for BGN and CTS to be support events,.. and (like now) they could run some races on their own.
I still think Nascar would limit a team owner to 4 total teams no matter which division (east or west) they ran in.
Also... a team could be 'seeded into their particular division by the points results from the previous year.  All the drivers who finish in the "odd" positions (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc) would be in one division... and all the 'even' finishers would be in the other division.  That pretty much assures teams get split up.

Well, it look's like Bruton "I'm Rich, But I Wanna be Richer" Smith and Bob "Killer Track" Bahre haven't sold North Wilkesboro, they've just turned it over to a realy firm to find a buyer for $12 million.  And they think a fiddlers' convention might be a more fitting use for the old track (no, I'm not making this stuff up)

The track is on the county tax rolls valued at just over $4.  The good people of Wilkes County ought to stick it to those two greed bastards.
