Guess it's time to put Daytona up again.

POP QUIZ!!!
How can you tell there isn't a race going on in this shot of Fontana?
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=16&ll=34.087746,-117.500485&spn=0.012262,0.019956&t=k&om=1
Is it because (1) the stands look empty or (2) there are no cars on the track?

Correct, but not fair, Chris.
They could be wearin' those aluminum-colored tees that all those IRL fans like to wear. Or, they could be under the grandstands, shopping.

I meant to post the Mexico City road course before the race today:

I meant to start a new quiz, but didn't get it started for Daytona.
Two publicly--traded corporations own most-but not all--of the tracks NA$CAR races on. They are International Speedway Corporation (ISC) and Speedway Motorsports (TRK). The Frances control much of the stock of ISC. Bruton Smith is a principal in TRK.
Daytona is an ISC track. So is Fontana. Next week the circuit moves to Vegas. Here's this weeks' question: who owns the Las Vegas track? Is it:
A) ISC and the France Klan
B) TRK and Bruton Smith
C) Somebody else

symler gave a shout out to the track owners, which reminded me. I'd tried to get a new quiz going on track ownership but got no nibbles. But I'll try again. Expand your NASCAR knowledge and look it up, boys and girls!
Who owns Bristol?
A) ISC and the France Klan
B) TRK and Bruton Smith
C) Somebody else

"B" it is, Brian.
To bring us up to date, who owns:
1) Daytona? (miss this one, and it's back to go carts for you!)
2) Fontana?
3) Las Vegas?
4) Atlanta?
A) ISC and the France Klan
B) TRK and Bruton Smith
C) Somebody else (name ‘em)

I meant to use this thread for a little trivia on who owns the tracks, but have fallen down on the job. I think it's interesting to see which tracks are owned by which of the two big track-owning corporations. Remember, campers, while they're both publicly-traded corporations, ISC = the France family and Speedway Motorsports = Bruton Smith.
Daytona ISC
California ISC
Las Vega Speedway Motorsports
Atlanta Speedway Motorsports
Bristol Speedway Motorsports
Martinsville ISC
Texas Speedway Motorsports
Phoenix ISC
Talladega ISC
