Congratulations Frontstretch

My congratulations to all the Frontstretch staff!
It seems writing and reading are alive and well. And the proof of that statement can be found in the Frontstretch Staff article,
Frontstretch Seeking 2007 Writers
Followed by,
"Are you looking for a fast-growing website..........?"
And, continues,
".....to not only share your thoughts on racing, but have FUN doing it with a group of laid-back, dedicated people?"
But, here's the good part,
".....coming off a record setting year in which our audience more than doubled."
Good-Golly and Shux Howdy!
Now, THAT'S Impressive!
That should even impress the Brian called France. And well it should.
Although I'm excited to learn that bit of information, I also find I'm just a tad apprehensive too. I mean, I'm thinking how crowded it's going to be if the Frontstretch writing staff grows to be 2007 writers! That's a tall order to fill no matter HOW you look at it.
But if any website can get 'er done, it would be Frontstretch. One thought in business is, 'Never give a customer any reason to try Brand-X'. Well, unless you happen to BE Brand-X. And Frontstretch seems to have accomplished that goal. At least for me. I've tried the rest --- and found the best.
I've put the car up on jack-stands and removed the tires. I don't think I'll be needing or wanting to drive anywhere else, being that I'm pretty "laid-back" myself.
I left the battery connected so I can listen to the radio though.
The Frontstretch Staff ended their article with,
"Good luck, and good writing."
To which I respond,
Thanx!
And good luck, and good writer hunting.
But I just don't understand how any writer could stop at only 100 words.
I just did 300, and I ain't even warmed up yet.

Congrats indeed.
I had never been to a forum anywhere, prior to February 2005. Then a strange thing happened. My favorite NASCAR writer was gone. All of the sudden. Ironically I wasn't even aware his former home had a forum. I searched it out after his departure. From there, I searched other sites, trying to find where out he went. Got word that he landed at a place that had just started a few months before he was 'let go'. I'd wager that their largest swell in membership occured when a fella named MATT landed there in February '05.
Sadly, his efforts there went largely unappreciated. There was even a stretch there last summer that he quit his writing. That was such a shame. I know he had other projects going on that demanded his attention, but I viewed it as a loss to the racing world. My selfish side hopes that he's treated much better here.
When word spreads that he's here now, along with Meegan, Vito, and others, I expect the population here will increase quite a bit.
Afterall, y'all are stuck with me now.

Being one of the new writiers that has come on board this season, I am truly excited about being in on something that's growing the way it is. I really like the way we're able to interact with the fans as well, because lets face it........we're fans as well too. Feel free to tear my stuff up and comment on it....I can take it!

As another new writer, I'd like to second Vito's statement. I'm really looking forward — not only to writing — but sharing thoughts, opinions and ideas with other Race Heads. I know Jess did a great job with Scanner Static because I read it every week just like the rest of you all. I guarantee to give you all my best as well! Only one thing....I haven't received any questions yet.
C'mon ya'll...I'll only give my best if you give me yours...

Ok, I'm a newbie. I can't figure out this east west version of yahoo fantasy racing and I'm just as clueless on scanner static. What is it scanner static and what kind of questions do you want. I know the answer to life the universe and everything in it, 42. Bill Cosby told me why there is air. I guess what I really want to know is........... why does that same damn woman who was driving down the interstate doing 45 miles an hour in the fast lane all of a sudden turn into Richard freaking Petty when she hits the mall parking lot and goes zooming through there at at least 95 MPH scattering pedestrians and buggy like Jesus clearing the merchants and whores out of the temple?

OK, Bubba. Let's do this one at a time, here.
No. 1: Scanner Static is a weekly Q&A column. You got a race-related question, I got a race-related answer. Or opinion. Or commentary. I'm not selling myself as the Be-All, End-All NASCAR Expert, but I enjoy good conversation and I'd like to think we can have that on a weekly basis with Scanner Static.
No. 2: If you've got the answers for life, the universe, etc., I've got some questions for you. I'll worn you, though...most apply to my girlfriend and why it is she would rather spend the weekend in quaint, historic little Asheville, NC, (a six-hour drive!) than here in Nashville, where the Honky Tonks are calling my name.
And finally, No. 3: Old people drive at a constant speed. That speed (depending on the person) ranges between 30 and 45 mph. Therefore, when you see one on the interstate doing 45, he/she appears to be going slow. Concurrently, when said driver is doing 45 at Wal Mart, it leaves us all diving for cover.
Alright guys and gals, Now that we've made our introductions, let's talk!

That doesn't explain WHY the older they get, the bigger car they drive? You get behind them and all you can see is a little Q-Tip head barely above the steering wheel.

Well, I just stopped in to say another " congrats" friends,
And tell Mr Matt,
He give me the bends,
Some say ROTFL, but I never left my chair,
So, I spelled it out with a little extra hot air.
And Matt, the real reason I stopped here,
Was to tell you how much I enjoyed your piece,
So far, the best I've read all year..
Tho,, I liked all parts of your year in review,
This new, DON'T DRINK THE KOOL AID,
Really turned the screw.
That was the straight stuff,
A lot like sippin' scotch,
A sipper needs a taste for it,
But, by golly, you poured it well,
With ne'er a tiny botch.
Keep it commin' would ya?
It's the gospel that needs to be preached,
I wish there was a way to change the skam,
So this REAL RACIN' sport wouldn't continue to be breached.
You have to be kidding about the DISTRIBUTION of the wing thing.
That's all we need is another CHOREOGRAPHY tool,
For the mob to style the races with.
And more method with which results to fool.
The tire lease and RFID fiasco,
And fine tuned restrictor plates for the favored few,
Along with shocks and flatened fuel,
Certainly puts favor in this promoed duel.
It's time to end the MANDATED component choreography,
And get back to REAL RACIN' again, and soon,
Before the sport is stymied by the fical frances boon.
Thanks again, for your undying honesty,
And straight shots of printed truth,
Attempting the uncovering,
Of france family's greedy uncouth... (n)ness?
:-)
WTG Matt....

Well, Rowell, that I cannot answer. I'm only 32. However, I'd be willing to bet that David Pearson doesn't drive a big car. You know it's a '69 Mustang Fastback or something.

1). Thanks. I finally found it after I asked.
2). The answer IS 42, (read Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy)
3). I said WOMEN not old folks.................
4). (ok so I added 4 even though it really should be under 1) Good deal. I'll look for it. Who says you aren't an expert? You are as "expert" as many I've seen on TV and I haven't read anything other than these few posts lol. And if you get stuck on a question? Just ask me because I know everything except that I'm a no good arrogant SOB and everyone else knows that, so between us, we know it all............ LOL. Seriously, thanks and I'll look for the column. I saw the last guys last column and it was good. I especially liked how he handled that last Richard lol.

You are herby ordered to report to The Round Room where you will find a corner. Please remain there until told otherwise. The FS ladies will be down soon to decide HOW to punish you.
CGL will probably still be there, he can show you the ropes. Speaking of ropes........errrr never mind.
Anyway WOMEN drive 30-45 mph
Is that what you meant to say
Are you nuts? I got stopped 3 Sunday mornings in a row on my way to work for, guess what? SPEEDING
I am a very lucky woman, I seem to average once about every 3 months but I also get by with a warning 99% of the time (thank you Jesus!!) Batman gets very upset with me, NOT because I get stopped but because I get warnings instead of tickets..lol I don't even tell him any more.
P.S. If I aim for you at Wal Mart
cover
should be a Bradley Tank. A mear concrete barrier will not save your cute lil Ga butt.
