It's been said, concerning the truth, that, "From the mouthes of Babes," which I think most of us have heard.
But what you might not have heard is what Chandra Johnson, wife of Nextel Cup Champion, Jimmie Johnson, said when Ed Pepper, a General Motors executive  handed her the keys to a brand new Corvette for her role in husband Jimmie's championship season Nov. 30, during the Myers Brothers Luncheon.

The champion commented, "I just want to know if she'll let me borrow the car."
Wife Chandra quickly assured Jimmie, "Sure, you can be my chauffeur."

I've also heard it said that, "behind every successful man, stands a surprised woman."

I think both sayings hold true.

I would like to know what role she played in him winning the Championship. The only thing I have seen her do is sit on top of the Pit Box and try to look Pretty. Their is only one wife that in my mind would deserve a Corvette and that is Delana Harvick. The rest of them just wear expensive clothes and Sunglasses and stuff like that. Kinda makes me Sick.

Not to be defending Chandra, but sometimes just the moral support at the track and during the week is what the wives do.  Not all NASCAR wives grew up with racing like Delana did.

I agree, Plano. 

And I'm not sure DeLana is always a good influence on Kevin.  He's not the only one with a "yappy little mouth" (remember who said THAT?).   

But wives and families all do a lot to support their drivers, whether they know a lugnut from a luchbox or not.

You can go right down the list of wives in Cup, both past and present, and you'll see few that knew a lot about the mechanical aspects, but sometimes they balance out the frustrations that a driver might otherwise have.  Sometimes you just need a nonjudgmental ear to listen to your griping.   

We may not always see what the driver sees in their choice of mate, but it usually works for them and is none of our business who they choose to be with.  Granted, Brooke was an awful choice for Jeff, but you don't really hear about a lot of divorces, especially when you consider how many there are in the general population.  I'd say way more than 3/4 of them stay married, verses less than half of all marriages in general. 

As for Mrs. Harvick or Mrs. Johnson, it is impossible to know what happens between these couples, since all we know is what they let us see.  Also, our opinion of the spouse is often tarnished by our view of the driver.

Why does Brooke get all the bad press?
Wasn't it Jeff who first cheated on his, then, wife?

Jeff took advantage of a good thing.
So, it seems, did Brooke.
Both of which may have been a big mistake.

All totaled though, I think Brooke won that race.

And, didn't Jeff "cheat" when he defied the rules against dating Winston Girls?

Oh and BTW just what is wrong with a woman who has some  “balls” to go along with the boobs?  As for me, I think I wanna meet a few more women like that…. I know then that when I need my back covered and looked out for, I won’t be worrying about some eye candy…but have a REAL WOMAN by my side facing whatever needs to be faced as an EQUAL…not anything less!!!

Hoser, I don't think i will ever  need ta "suck up"...just the way i truly feel! As a matter of fact, the attached is an image of a very dear Lady friend of mine who has covered my back and fought alongside me for quite some time... She has my ultimate trust over ALL that matters and always will!!!  And BTW, she is adept and an expert with BOTH weapons she carries!!! And yes...it is an anime image, but the woman behind it is very very real and looks just like the image...  she is also an ordained Deacon in the Celtic Church... soon to become a full Minister... a wonderful friend and an extremely awsome and talented (who made an extremely successful carrear in the New York City Metro Radio market...the largest in the World...dominated by men and NEVER had to sleep her way to the top....she EARNED it the honest way!!!)  Lady to be sure!!!

I know we've gotten on your case for your post, but really, is there anything wrong with looking your best?  I'm sure those drivers are proud of their wives, want them there and want them to look their best - most of the men I know who have gorgeous women, love to show them off - I guess it makes them feel good about themselves. 

Just because a woman looks good, doesn't mean she's a ditz, or a gold-digger or whatever either.

However, I know that for some women, and some men, the association with glamerous things - like NASCAR drivers, rock stars, etc...is the thing that turns them on, not the real person.  So, I can understand your comments, but some of the most down-to-earth people I know, people who really care for their families, and for others as well, are some of the "Beautiful People."

OK OK!!! let me try to explain myself.

I never had a problem with ANY Female being on the Pit-Box until G.Biffle's Wife decided to go to another drivers Pit's and flip out on his Wife. I can't remember who it was but somebody spun G.Biffle out and his Wife took it upon herself to go and Mouth-Off at that drivers pitbox ti his wife. That is a BIG no no. Whenever they show her on TV she is just sitting there in her Gucci Sunglasses watching her Husband take the White Flag and with a bubble over her head thinking, I AM RICH.
