It's been Reported on Jay-Ski that Jack Roush has sold 1/2 Interest in Roush Racing to the Boston Redsox ,
Interst Group. Huuum have to see what this dealing involves and how it effects the ontrack performance
at Roush.

I doubt it will affect the on-track performance at all...it's merely an influx of cash, business not racing...smart thinking, with Toyota coming in soon.

Yeh , BB xtra fresh Blood never hurts , fresh ideas , another pair of eyes may even produce better Marketing
Awareness. Hey may even win over a few Stick & Ball Fans from Fenway. It's going to be funny seeing Mark as the Opposition , still don't know who to root for , probably start following Chris's philosphy of no actual #1
favorite for the Chase. Still respect Matt alot , and really find Cousin Carl quite colorful and exciting..sure is
going to be different..Eh ! Wink Wink

Hmmmm.  I wonder if this is intended to eventually get around the 4-cars per team rule, with a 4-car Roush team and a 4-car Redsox team?

I know Jack thinks that new rule was aimed at him personally (I wonder if anyone has ever had that boy checked for paranoia?), but more likely it was an attempt to keep Toyota from crashing into the sport with a huge, factory-sponsored super-team.  Still, I've never really understood how that deal is going to work, with so many organizations sharing or leasing assets.

We’ve seen big teams sell or lease assets to smaller teams, like Hendrick engines going to smaller Chevy teams.  We’ve seen teams pooling their assets on areo work (remember the RCR, DEI, etc. areo effort a few years back that kicked off DEI’s restrictor-plate track dominance?).  And we’re seen teams work together on engines (Roush/Yates).

Owners, as I recall, have long been limited to owning two cars, which is why, if you go to the big teams and look up car ownership, you won’t see “Rick Hendrick” of “Jack Roush” on the title of all of their cars.  So what does this new NA$CAR rule change.

Anybody got any insight into how NA$CAR is gonna make this work?

I'm not really sure falcon.

The only way you could really tell is by who's name is on the Dotted Line. For instance if ya have Jack Roush and ten of his cousins all signed on the dotted line then that would be an easy catch. If ya have say 2 cars that are entered in the race under the name of the RedSox then you know they are with someone else because we know they didn't atart a team and they haven't been to the track doing any practice. It's like all of the sudden they are car owners. It may come to a point to where Nascar has to say if your gonna drive a car then drive and if ya wanna be an owner then get on the War Wagon cause ya can't do both. Nascar could let the drivers own a Busch Team if they wanted but if their driving Cup then don't let them have any cars in their name. Same for J.Roush or R.Hendrick, No more letting your wife, Mom, Cousin, Or second cousin twice removed own one or more of your cars. I am the kind of person who likes to see M.Shepard, M.Wallace and other single car teams out there every weekend and that is if they are going to try and qualify for all of the races. If Nascar keeps letting these team owners have anywhere from 2-6 cars then were not going to see those single car teams at the track anymore and that's just not fair to them. Who know's for sure what will happen in the future, I'm just ready for some RACING.

I have a good friend who is a huge Redsox fan, and I couldn't WAIT to poke her with a sharp stick and tease her about the stick-and-ball types investing in a REAL sport.

When she stops sputtering, I'm going to discuss with her the possibility of turning Fenway into a nice short track.  He, he, he.   Grin

I hope this doesn't mean I'm expected to pull for the Roush drivers now-yuck!  But if any of them ever carry the Sox logo, it'd be hard to pull AGAINST them, either.

And there better not be ONE WHEEL messing up that Fenway grass LOL

I guess that's possible, but I still think it's just financial, so Jack can push development to not only get Ford back on top with current competitors, and give Toyota a run for their money. We all know Toyota's been throwing around $$$$ in setting up to come into Cup...and will continue to push things. Gotta have lots of money to compete, these days.Smiley

Good point.

Wouldn't it be wierd if five or six years, the smaller Chevy and Ford superteams--like Gibbs and RCR--are the ones being squeezed out of NA$CAR?
