Season Preview - Disappearing Teams?

All week we'll have season preview questions go up on the main page along with opinions on those questions from each of the fs staff.  We all want to know what you think about them as well.

Sadly, I think the Wood Brothers and Morgan McClure will have a hard time.  BAM may run out of money (or the will to dig deeper into their own pockets).

Bill Davis has not always shown the most smarts when it comes to the business side of the deal.  Losing factory support by helping Toyota in the trucks.  Running off Ward Burton after the loyalty Ward showed him was dumb.  And, Davis will go down in history as the guy who had Ray Evernham and Jeff Gordon and was too dim to offer them a Cup contract.  In this new jungle, only the strong survive.

OTOH, one thing the COT might eventually do is reduce the importance of the owners.  Part of me thinks that is the REAL goal of the COT.  The Jack Roushes, Rick Hendricks, Joe Gibbs, etc. pose a threat to French power and control.   We may see a situation one day where the France family sell franchises to be NA$CAR owners.  At any rate, we may see some of these old teams take a hiatus and come back in a few years with financial backers who want an old-school name.

I think the only reason Bill Davis is even still around is because of M.Waltrip Racing. If you have seen the new Mickey Show then you know that Mickey is going to him for help. By that I mean using all of the different Dyno's at BDR. So IMO Mickey wiil share his info with BDR.
