I will say one thing for Junior, he usually does own up to it when he does something wrong. Unlike alot of other drivers out there. (Not that I'm placing blame or dogging him, honest!)
.
Well some one should Dog him...I mean how many times is he going ta do the same Stupid Bone head Bump Drafting
going into the corners ! Hell it's an exhibition race , non-points event , the race is all but over and he wrecks five cars !
I hope Everham sends him Crockers phone number..Man ! It's stupid incidents like this that remind me he's Kerry's Brother an not Dale's Son !
P.S. I gonna add a little side bite ta this post...I read a real good post on another forum about Junior..and it goes back to perhaps the Contract Negotiations effecting Juniors concentration level. If you think back he also had an incident in the Pits and also overshot his pit. That is not something Junior does often ...then wreck five cars with less than a lap ta go for what..an additional spot or two in the finishing order...he wasn't going anywhere !

Nah , what Tony did is a caress , totally legal..no harm no foul ! They call it a bump and run , a very minor bump at that , an executed to the max. Takes a lot of skill , and was the best example of it since Dale Senior..back in the Day !
caress, bump whatever...
NO place for it on tracks like Daytona and Dega...
Nothing against Tony,... but if there was any "skill" involved in that incident,.. I'd say it was in the hands of
BUSCH
. He did an
EXCELLENT
job of saving that car. Many other guys may have lost it, spun out and crashed 1/2 (or more) of the field right there.

Well ya never gonna see many bump an runs at Dega Chris for the simple fact of Freight Train Effect ! But a handling Track like Daytona..an Blocking Drivers like both Busch Brothers are...with less than a lap ta go in the race...I think 90%of the Young Guns would have done the same damm..thing ! But would have put the Grub in the wall from less than a gentle nudge...and that's all it was..hell ya had to look at the replay , an to be perfectly honest it was more of a matter of
Kyle letting off , rather than Tony pushing him , when Kyle got loose. I agree , with Older Drivers like Mark or DJ...in a non-points situation you would not see such a form a racin..but with these Young Guns it's gonna happin. Yeh it was a pretty good save , but the save of the night was by Kasey Kane..Man his car was almost sideways..an he checked up and saved it before he got in to Martin..an still never lost a spot...amazing exhibitions of Driving Skill !

Yup. I'm not a "LilboyJr." fan but he does come out immediately and admit when he screws up. He also will set the record straight if someone is falsely accused of wrecking him.

Kyle should've tossed his HANS Device at Tony during his winner circle interview. That would have learned him.
As for Jr.'s move.......exactly, it's the last turn of the last lap of an exhibition race. Why wouldn't you get a little rough? He barely even touched Elliott, that's just a rough portion of track too. I remember in the early 80's when Ken Squier dubbed it, "Calamity Corner". I like Jr. I wasn't an Earnhardt Sr. fan (I met him at autograph singings twice........nicest guy on the planet....just wasn't a fan as a driver), but I can get on board with Junior. He's pretty much represents every normal guy who's 25-35 that just won the lottery and is just trying to do the right thing with his life.

Now, Tyyrus. Generally, ya don't do the bump and run at a restrictor plate track. People get killed. Not so good.
Still, Smoke pulled it off without seriously pruning the Shrub. And, it WILL save us from any sactimonious speeches in the 500 drivers meeting. Or, I HOPE it will.

I now he touched Busch but ya have to admit that the AIR played a little part in it.

OK let me get this right. Your saying that what Jr did was OK but what Stewart did was Wrong??? I see a little contradicting here. You say Jr BARELY touched Elliott but from where I was sitting it looked like he caused a pretty big crash. I'm guessing your gonna say that Stewart SLAMMED into Busch, Right. Maybe ya have the 2 incedents mixed up or you meant to say that Stewart Barely touched Busch.

I totally agree with your first part. Smoke (he actually got that name for smoking so many engines over driving them) did do it without killing anyone......... this time. He ALSO did it to Mark Martin his rookie year (or the year after) in the All Star Race at 190 MPH. Now how can you put MM into the wall anywhere, much less a superspeedway?

Yeh....Don't ! Well why the Hell not ! It's been done for years...it's the damm Bump Drafting and the more recent Slam Drafting that causes all the Big Ones ! Actually as I said Tony was not intending to touch Shrub at all , he just got a little better run on him than he anticipated and that along with Kyle letting off to gather it up caused the incidental rub..nothin serious...and Tony slipped in under him , when he became aero loose and the rest is History !

I agree with Tony's problems with Smokin those Old Pontiac Engines..both he and Bobby had hard luck with them for a year. As for Lowes...that's a different type of track...Daytona is the type of track where solo passing is only sucessful if you have a Ton of Horses under the Hood and an extremely talented driver which the #20 Car has. As for Kyle and Kurt
they are rather blatant when it comes to blocking , so as I said no harm , no foul as far as the Shootout rub , by Tony in my Humble Opinion..Baby ! But then I'am an Ole School Racer..Eh !

I didn't say I did not like him... I just believe he had better get his head out of his rectum , before he kills someone , running into someone with less than 1/3 of a lap to go ..for nothin..makes no sense , and this is the 3rd time he has done it . As I said I like Junior as a person and until recently as a prolific racer...but something is interfering with his concentration level...and it was very apparent during the Shootout where his made 3 blatant miscues and one rather serious misjudgement..Baby ! Fortunately no one was serious injured !
