Lets all sit back and see if Ricky The Stud and the Newbie can set their Yates Cars on the Front Row...or will some other Sand Bagger spoil their parade...

I have to admit, that would be pretty cool. I see Robert has announced that this might be his last year.
Did you see that Mikey had an engine part confiscated! Hoo boy! Let the games begin!!!

Uh oh. It's early, but, at the moment, David "the Dart" Ragan has the provisional pole.

I haven't really heard the details, but I caught a snippet of a report that there was oil inthe manifold. What's up with that, Tyyrus?

Well , there were 2 things I was thinking of...1st I believe they reported it as an oily substance with an unusual odour , that would indicate a petroleum base fuel additive (Octane Boasting) the other thing I was wondering about when they reported the Air intake , I invisioned the Manifold , which I believe in Nascar is a single plane dual runner style.
I have seen some while in MIS and they can be altered rather easily (Polishing) , which Nascar allows within limits. But there is a point where you want smooth to increase air flow velocity and just across the line you want rough..to maximize turbulence for better fuel atmomization (hot burn rate) which increases horsepower ! That is why they actually feel within the Intake Plenum..to identify what is what...we will have to stay tuned there are all kinds of grey areas within carburation / Intake Manifold Design , that a Good Tuner can take advantage of ...should be interesting !

Wonder if Dale Jarrett is reconsidering his rather hasty departure from RYR.
He left what he thought was a 'sinking ship' (and we all thought that was the case) and went to a SUNKEN SHIP... RYR looks to be afloat now with a driver out of retirement that should be rusty and not even up to par and have all his skills finely tuned yet.
Just makes me wonder if Jarret is kicking himself yet... or if this is a flash in the pan..

After watching some of the show about Mikey starting his team, on ESPN, I'm positive it was all about money and not just looking for a competitive edge. I've always liked DJ but he has never been among my favorites. I was happy he won his championship, but DJ is a cool and calculating person. He knows exactly what he is doing. I can't see how going with a start up team when you are this near to the end of your career is going to be a good bet. I'll be highly surprised if he should win a race either this year or next. I'll also be surprised if he doesn't use all 6 of his provisionals. I don't hold anything against him, after all a man has to look out for his family, but DJ was bought as a commodity for those provisionals more than what he can still do on the track.

Well said Smyler...I believe your absolutely correct , just one other additional note that I'am sure you implied by the family analogy...is that Toyota gave Ole DJ a great Pre-Retirement..Bonus !

Yeah, remember that terms of a drivers contract are always undisclosed. I would not be shocked to hear that his contract is as big as Jeff or Tony's, even though they don't expect the same kind of success with DJ. Toyota had to have a name that people recognized AND had a shot at winning with. Would you stake your reputation on just BV or MW?
