I laughed both times I heard DW say the 3XB at the start of the races yesterday. I wonder what percent of viewers love to hear that and what % hate it.
I am being 100% HONEST with ya when I say that I ALWAYS HIT MUTE, No JOKE.

I am watching Busch Qualifying and the these guy's are GOOD. I am talking about the Announcers and they are Jerry Punch who is Very Good, Andy Petree Driver/Crew Chief, Tim Brewer Crew Chief, And finally Rusty Wallsce Driver. Then they have Alan Bestwick on Pit Road wher IMO he should be and he said he want's to be. These guy's KNOW what they are talking about when it comes to racing and they should. I would say the Nascar ratings will gu up when they take over Mid-Season.

Whether or not you like DW, he was just on trackside with John Force and it was a hoot.
Force was telling a tale of how years ago ('79? '80?), when he wasn't very well known, DW was driving the Mountain Dew car and he was driving a Mountain Dew dragster. DW won the race at Riverside, but for some reason, they needed a place to put the car overnight. So, they asked fellow Mountain Dew driver Force if DW's car could be stored in Force's garage. Force agreed. But that night, Force and his crew rolled DW's car out of the garage and pushed it up and down the street, giving girls rides in it. Force had his cat sitting in the back. DW found out and decided John was a total idiot. THey've been buddies ever since.

Larry Macs schtick is really old also. "Ok Durrel, were gettin ready for the start-reach down there and pull them belts tight ONE MORE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That was worn out the second time I heard it.
The best way to watch the race is with the sound off and the radio on. That way it's easy to keep track of whats happening on the track, unless all you want to hear about is Jooonyer, The Napa Toyota or DJ smokin his way up the leaderboard as he passes a car for 37th place.
Back in the day I had an old C-Band satellite and could get ESPN on a backhaul feed with no commercial breaks. They would go into a comercial break but I could still watch the race and hear the booth crew. That was the best race commentary I have ever heard because they were not live on the air and they told it like it was. If someone had just been a bozo they would talk about it and call him an idiot. I would pay big dollars to get unfiltered race commentary like that again.

Amen bro. The problem I have thoug is that the race TV broadcast and the radio broadcast aren't in time with each other.

Sorry people, I love DW. Then again I like silly. He CAN get on your nerves sometimes, but when I first started watching races and didn't know ANYTHING, he really did help me understand a lot. I'm sure if you've been watching for 20 years you don't need to hear about what "wedge" and "camber" means and what "pushing like a dump truck" means.
Some one had to defend him.
May as well be me!

I agree Ros. He may have used "BX3" a time or two too often, but overall, I like DW and the rest of the fox crew.

It's the SAME thing EVERY weeken. Larry Mac is acting like he is so surprised that the drivers can go 3 wide and he is starting to sound like a Formula-1 Announcer. DW is too busy talking about Mikey or JuneBug and doing his BX3 which I'm starting to have Nightmares about. Mike Joy..........He say's the same thing everytime there is a Night race, Legend has it that on a FULL MOON night thing's will get crazy and they did. It's pretty bad when I know what they are about to say. Heck I knew C.Edwards wrecked before they did, That's pretty bad if ya ask me.

I have to agree with that last one. The announcers were so busy telling all of their stories that at least a half dozen times I pointed out things that were going on (to my wife), but it took at least 5 seconds for them to notice, if they did at all. Now, I'm not saying I don't like some of the stories, but please talk about the race at hand a bit more.

Amen Brothers! real Toyotas drive forever...But DW hawking them is shameful. The FOX crew is getting old. I miss Benny Parsons though.
