ROTFLMAO....I like this one best

“There was just a lot of mud coming in to the car. It was fairly uneventful other than the mud coming in. It all happened so quick. I flipped over and then here comes the mud. I tell you, if much more mud had come in, I’m not sure I would have been able to get out.” Clint Bowyer on his last lap flip

What I was Proud of was Mark Martin Setting the Reporters Straight , That it was what it was ! No Sour Grapes , Nascar did the Right thing and it's Over..End of Story...Quite the Man Ole Marky !

Going to be fun watching...Ginn Racing and Pondering if Mark's going to Step aside at Bristol..he has gone on Record that Ginn has said that he writes the Race Schedule for himself..so lets see what happens if he continues to perform...will he sit out or RIDE ON..Huh?

I found it telling that the first race he's slated to miss since 1988, is the first race with the new POS, I mean COT.

FWIW, I think he'll reconsider, and be in the ride for the season.

It is a little weird how some of the media has been covering Harvick and the win. It is portrayed as if he dominated the race or something and it came down to a last lap battle. He won because he got a big push on a restart in overtime. And I'm not saying that becauase of sour grapes due to my screenname. Look at the facts. He lead 4 laps and was 15th when they went green. It was an awesome move, and insane run, and looked incredible on TV, and will go down in history as one of the most incredible Daytona 500 finishes in history, but come on. It's a restart on a plate track. You get a push and catch the air right in the pacecar and you can get up front. It would be really unfair to pose that question to him. It's the Daytona 500, an incredible accomplishment that has 6 months of work, blood, sweat, and tears invested into it. To belittle someone's acheivment no matter what the circumstances would be patently unfair.

But, like I always say, to win a race, you first have to put yourself in a position to win. And he did just that in dramatic fashion.

It seems that Ginn is keeping the door wide open , but Mark has just went on record and said ..the only reason he acccepted his personal contract is for part time , Cup participation..we will see what happens prior to Bristol..and if Marky reconsiders !

Good post, Bitter.

The Daytona 500 is a wierd race.  In addition to having our "Super Bowl" at the start of the season, the 500 is a race in which luck sometimes plays a bigger role than skill.  There are top-notch drivers who have never won or have strugged to finally win one.  And there are those with a Daytona 500 win (or two) and little else on their resumes.

You hit the nail on the head: Happy Harvick put himself in position to win.  He hardly dominated, but the cards then fell his way and he is the '07 winner.  He deserves congratulations.

Hell Bells ..can that Poor Kid ever finish off a Race Effort without Wrecking...kinda reminds me of Ole Kerry Earnhardt....I actually have turned the corner on the Kid , as far as supporting him..but he has worse luck that David Ragan at Martinsville...Oh buy the way ..WHAT ABOUT OLE RAGAN..GOT HIMSELF A 5TH PLACE FINISH AT THE DAYTONA 500 ! Looked good on him..too ! Now if he can just keep his nose clean ..Eh ! Wink

Dont think ol David's gonna gave that great of day today. Justa hunch but I wish him well.

Stevie Wallace...jeez..where to even start with this kid.Takes hisself out half or more of the multiple times he crashes per race till the car finally gives up., Usually ruining someone else day in the process.... Sad Angry

Never really cared for his daddy but the seed doesnt even have anywhere close to his daddys talent of driving IMO.
The boy seems to really have huge chip on his shoulder too. Maybe THAT comes from daddy Grin

I think Steve needs Rusty on the roof, not in the booth. He will be a great racecar driver once he settles down a little bit. He just needs a little coaching and polishing. What's the old addage......I'd rather have a driver I have to reign in a little, than one I have to motivate to go fast...
