Another great truck race. Lots of strategy, lots of passing. Could have been a winning day for #13... I think KHI will be fine. You can't blame Ron for racing, not like he was blocking. That race that Newman won in Atlanta last year could have been the difference in the championship. Ron not going to let that happen again. That's what's he's paid for to bring home championships. Felt bad for Malsam that #81 truck was never right all day. Buescher didn't fare much better.
How about that modified race! That was fun to watch.

Yeah sure Happy had fresher tires but he could not complete the pass ! So what was Hornaday suppose to do just roll over and let him have the position , hell he is in the championship hunt ! Grow up Harvick , Delana should grow him some Ba$$ 's ! Other than that I found it a rather entertaining Race . Team Orders should remain in F-1 !!

Since I'm up late I'll take this until TY wakes up in a couple of hours.
BTW Dale Jr Jeff Gordon and Mr. H was at Arilington National Cemetary today. They placed a wreath at the Tomb of the unknown solider. There PR guy tweeted that as they left they passed an on going burial and it was moving.
Also Tony Stewart Ryan Newman and the sprint VL girls visited Walter Reed today since they were close by in Dover.
I'm so proud of how NASCAR and the drivers support the troops in so many ways!

I just read about that on Jayski. I had the honor of being able to be a part of a wreath laying ceremony there as well. About 20 students in my eighth grade class went on a trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City after during the summer after eighth grade. We all applied for to participate, but only four of us were selected. I can't tell you how excited I was when I found out I had been chosen, and I can't even begin to describe what it was like to be a part of it. It's an experience I never will forget.

KBF stop reading and no posting if you haven't seen the CWTS race yet.
So Happy to see Johnny Sauter get back to victory lane. A very different Johnny Sauter who wore out his fenders and welcome in both NNS and NSCS. This was a humble man who reaped the rewards of hard work this year. They've been coming on as of late and it was going to be sooner or later that they would find thier way into VL.
Not happy to see CWTS leave #57 Norm Benning on the track barely able to maintain minimum speed. Now I defintely missed something somewhere because the speed set up show was talking about a "new" gear rule. Is it a new gear rule or a special gear that's only run at vegas? Regardless of the rule Norm Benning looked like he was running a V-6 with everyone having two extra cylinders. He was a litteral rolling chicance and I had at least 5 pucker factors as trucks dodged him. Multiple times he could have been involved with or a chain reaction crash start from where drivers were catching him.
Tayler Malsam did a heck of a job after losing his truck early in the race. Finsihed on the lead lap and a top ten finish. He'll probably conceed ROTY to Sauter, unless the stars and moon align. Ricky Carmichael just decided to race when he should have decided to save a little. He's bent up alot of sheetmetal this year, but it was expected and I can honestly say that half of his bent trucks have been due to someone else's mess. Tonight he got to learn that if you go hard and get pinched under someone the truck is going to snap around. The only good part is vets and rookies alike get caught up like, hopefully he will put that one in the ol memory banks.
Watched the Cup Lite race today too. Hard to believe that I'm becoming so disgusted with the series and the TV coverage. And I love Dover. But todays race was horrible. There was a debris caution early in the race ESPN didn't even bother turning a camera to turn 4 where is supposedly was, they just went to commerical. Absolutely nothing stunning about the race except Justin Allgaier shot himself in the foot and cost themselves 6 laps and Dale Jarrett and Andy Petrey will always take the side of a NSCS driver than that of a NNS driver. If you haven't already read Brian Kieth's article you should.

Great Truck Race ! I agree it was nice to finally see Sauter get his Win ! As for the Nationwide Series , it was also good to see Clint Bowyer finally get back in Victory Circle , poor Ole Scrub finishing a distant 4th . Hamlin and Keso got into a last lap encounter with Denny getting the boot , he also got the heave ho when he attempted to advise Keso of his misdoing lol . Well looking forward to this afternoons race , have a Great Day Folks !

Man I can't believe I hadn't come back to this thread after I watched the CWTS Sunday morning. I was so excited that Johnny Sauter got his race win. Ever since Joe Shear took over as his crew chief that team is on fire. And I'm pretty happy to see that ThorSport is having a good season overall. Yeah Hornaday is pretty far ahead of Crafton, but he's been on fire this season...only four finishes outside the Top 10, and two of those were because of the stupid pit road rules.
Like you Doug, I was impressed with what Malsam and his team were able to do. Randy Moss Motorsports looks to be really coming together lately, and it's a nice change of pace. Once we lost BDR, KHI pretty much became the only team that was consistently worth a flip, so it will be nice to see other teams getting a little closer so there's more competition for the championship and more trucks out there going for the win each week.
As far as the Cup race goes, I was so bored! There were moments (and that scary one when Joey went rolling), but for the most part it was just a tough race to watch. On to Kansas and a month off for trucks until we're back again. It's hard to believe the Truck Series has only 5 races to the end.

Well it's hard for me to say that there's a boring race at Dover. More like it's a crummy TV production of a great race at dover.
KHI is a godsend for the CWTS. They're a stable organization and they're providing bodies to other Chevy teams including Thorsport.
I have watched Sauter to see how he was going to race in the series. And he's learned when to and not to use his front bumper. Unlike when he used it all the time in Cup and NNS. Why did it take a top 5 run for Speed to talk about the shift in crew chief. I knew they've been coming on a roll watching the ROTY points. But I'll admitt I've been more focused on Malsam and Buescher.
Mike skinner has had a PR push lately publiclly speaking on how much he wants to stay with RMM. I know they have sponsor issues with the #5 switching sponsors all season long. I hope it's a media push to get someone sign long term. I'd hate to see Mike on the sidelines next year.
I read a rumor on twitter today that there is alot of rumblings about Keystone Light taking over sponsorship of the CWTS. I know Camping World basically stepped in for cheap to save the series. Wouldn't mind either of the two sponsoring the sieries myself. Who knows if KL takes over maybe CW will team up with Skinner.

God bless KHI! I don't even want to think about the kind of shape the Truck Series would be in if it weren't for them.
As far as Johnny Sauter, I have to admit I wasn't keeping a close eye on him until after Joe Shear took over. Earlier this season, it looked like Malsam was going to run away with the ROTY honors, but now it's going to take a miracle for him to put up much of a challenge for that No. 13 team. I've honestly been a bit disappointed in what I've seen from Buescher this season. He started off alright, but that team seems to have fallen way off as the weeks have gone on. They mentioned in the broadcast last week that he is probably going to be switching teams next season, but I couldn't honestly begin to guess where he might end up.
Wow...I hadn't heard the rumor on Keystone Light, but then again I've got a crazy schedule this weekend with two of my management staff out of town. I'm gonna have to check into that a little more, and I'll let you know what I find out (if I find anything more than what you've already told me). Last I heard, Camping World was planning to sponsor the truck series at least for a few years, but I did hear that they were trying to get out of sponsoring the CW East and West Series.
I've found myself getting more and more irritated with Speed and their coverage of the Truck Series in general. I swear one of these days I'm going to keep a count of how many times during the race they reiterate that they can't take fuel and tires on a single stop. After all season, it should be something most of us know.
I've been quite pleased that Mike Skinner has been getting the word out that he's looking for sponsorship. I don't want to see a guy that was such a big part of the series getting started out of a ride because no company will sponsor him.

Beth do you have any background on Joe Shear? I've never heard of him, until last week. What a boring Friday night without a truck race on. Had to put in a DVD. LOL

BTW FWIW Buescher is going to Turner motorsports. They're going to run a two truck team next year. Thier website wouldn't load so that's all I know so far.

There isn't a whole lot out there about Joe Shear, Jr. at this point, but from what I have been able to find in my research over the last few weeks is that he has worked with Johnny Sauter before (Busch series). Also he seems to have a reputation of getting in trouble for rules violations. I found quite a few of them on Jayski, and unless there are two guys named Joe Shear, Jr, he was suspended indefinitely from the NW series in 2006. I don't know when they lifted the suspension. What I find interesting is that since he came on to replace Jason Overstreet, Sauter has not finished outside the Top 5. The combination of the two could be a real threat for the championship come next season, and if Shear had come along sooner, they just might have been a threat this season. Sauter has jumped from 14th to fifth in the standings since Shear came on board, and provided they're doing everything they're supposed to and not bending the rules to do it, I'm incredibly happy about it.
As far as James Buescher and Turner Motorsports, I haven't been able to find out very much yet. I was able to read a little bit about the team from their website (thanks to Tom), and apparently there is some sort of a connection between them and Win-Tron Racing because the two teams collaborated to field a car for Beau Slocumb to make his ARCA debut at Chicagoland earlier this month. I'm going to do my best to get more information about them, and as soon as I do, I'll make sure to fill you in.
