Well if them two hook up and go then they're sure to avoid "the big one" I think it's ridiculuous all the chest puffing NASCAR's doing / saying about bump drafting and two car break aways. It's called racing. If you're not satisfied with the racing as a SANCTIONING BODY then don't come to the track.
If you're trying to make it seem like your doing something then don't you come off looking hypocritical.

Hell Mark didn't even see it coming with 3 to go ! Gets Side Swiped and ends up on his Roof ! Typical Dega ! JJ runs around the back of the pack for 180 Laps to ensure a Top Ten Finish ! Boring Race....at least no one in the Stands was injured !

Congrats DougS about the job.
The 'Dega race needs some rethinking for next year. Maybe a strong V-six that gets the cars up to speed (180-85) quicker and no damn plates. No! Wait! Just have the Cup drivers race trucks only, no cars--problem solved.

Congrats on the new job Doug
The timing should help with the truck repairs cost.

2004 F-350 6.0L started with rough idle, that smoothed out and then heavy smoke out of the tailpipe under throttle. After that I called Ford they said bring it in immediately. On the way there still smoking heavily under throttle and then it really flopped over at the 4 stop lights idiling rough really rough shaking through the brake pedal. Last two lights popped the truck into neutral and kept at 1000 rpm to keep it running, no power on throttle up. Pulled into the service portico and the service manager comes out and say yep it's broke I can smell it.
The #1 injector sucked air (how they can't tell me) and fouled that injector and then the contamination from that injector plugged the # 3,5,7 cylinder injectors. they also found a cracked cold air boot which was messing with the EGR. And of course new injectors change out both fuel filters which involved dropping the fuel cell.
Now here's the kicker all that and never got a check engine light.
Because it's warranty work over $1500 Ford sent out an inspector to look at the injectors and he confimed all 4 were fouled. I might get the truck back tomorrow.

Yeah Heavy White Smoke certainly indicates Air Entrainment . I assume that you Injector Plumbing is all Steel with Swagelock style fastener Connections . Although much more positive than my 2002 Navistar F-250 Rubber Hose Plumbing on a Naturally Aspirated Engine , your Model is Turbo Charged with a much higher operating pressure on the Fuel lift pump, while the engine is in Boost during aspiration . I have a friend who had the same issue with his 05 . Ford came good for the Bill. Fortunately he he caught his before the China Syndrome occurred lol ! Well thanks for the info being a Old Diesel Mechanic out of High School I love the smell of a well broke in #2 Fuel Oil Burner lol ! Well with your new job any en-cured extras will be taken care of , congratulations and good luck with your future endeavors !

Well the truck is back and running just like it's old self. So hopefully we'll never have to go down this road again.
A ton of truck series news / rumors breaking from Texas.
I'll strat with rumors: Rick Ren (whose about to lock up his second championship with KHI) is rumored to be departing KHI after this season to be the general manager for Kyle Busch Racing.
News: Ricky Carmichael will be leaving KHI at the end fo this season and racing for Turner Motorsports (a new team starting next year). They will recieve bodies and chassis's from KHI as they will be a chevy team. The crew chief on the #4, John Monsam, is also stated as departing for Turner Motorsports. Turner Motorsports will also support a part time truck for James Buescher you will be departing from Circle Bar racing. Buescher will driver for Turner full time the in NNS for 2010.

Well the Rick Ren rumor got adressed during the truck race. From Kevin Harvick Rick Ren is under contract until 2010 and will be the crew chief on the #33 Chevy silverado next year. Interesting that this is basically the same messagae Kevin got from RCR when there was talk of him going to SHR.
Ray Dunlop teased the RHR will be going to three trucks next year and to watch Speed Report on sunday for the story. I hate teasers! If you got the scoop then report the news.

Ray Dunlop could use a B slappin' from Danica.
You know things have gone to hell in cup when truck racing is more fun to watch and the drivers can be more themselves. Nascar will figure out a way to f#$^ that series up.
It's time for Brian France to step away and let somebody who wants the top 3 series to be sucessful run the show.

Hey Doug...not to be picky, but James Buescher is actually going to be racing in the No. 1 for Phoenix Racing in the NW series next season.
I'm looking forward to the information about RHR on Sunday. I don't know why they would want to field a third truck unless they were able to gather some sponsorship. But if they couldn't pull in sponsorship for the defending series champion, I can't imagine them pulling in a sponsor now. And I wonder who they've got in mind to pilot that third truck.
The truck race last night was a pretty good one. Mom and I were there in one of the suites, and that is the best view we've ever had at the track. I took a couple hundred pictures, so I gotta sort through them to share. I'll be back with more details of yesterday sometime tomorrow if I've got some time. But I couldn't believe the save Mario Gosselin had on the frontstrech around mid race when he made contact with Aric Almirola (I think) and Stacy Compton nearly rear ended him. What amazing driving skills...absolutely outstanding.
And Halcyon...as far as the Truck Series is going, I'm pretty happy they're letting the guys get back to normal pit stops next season. My first thought when they changed that this year was that they're going to go and ruin my favorite series. Thankfully the change back to single pit stops next season will be a huge help in going back in the direction I want to see them go.

Sure rub it in that you were at the race. Good on you! While I can't say that TMS is on my must visit list. With starting this job next monday making plans for the LVMS are already in progress for the stand alone truck race!
Okay so I watched the truck race on Friday and the cup race on Sunday. It complely shows everything that wrong with the chase and ESPN. Both series has drivers favored to win thier respective championships. Both races fished under green and fuel mileage became an issue (I know less so in the trucks). But while the truck race on Friday was incredible to watch (including Mario's save) the cup race was almost torture.
I do not find it surprising that Brian France who got cornered for an interview on Sunday morning states he doesn't watch the TV coverage of the races. It explains why he can't seem to get a handle on way people are leaveing in droves. I was ready to shut off the race and turn on football on Sunday but figured I had already lost 2.5 hours might as well see the whole thing. Atleast I was rewarded in seeing Kyle Busch run out of gas.
Here's a question I was asking myself last night. Self...Why am I upset that I'm watching a fuel milage race on Sunday but not on Friday? The answer was easy I fully expected a late race caution to bunch up the field, warranted or not. I guess NASCAR used up it's judgement caution when it saved the #24 from going a lap down. So did I get what I asked for and no race manipulation from NASCAR yep. and it made me feel better about the race on Sunday.
Could anyone imagine if they let the truck series race control officals run a race for the big guys on Sunday? Maybe fans wouldn't have the expectation of race manipulation.
