It was announced today that Justin Lofton, 2009 ARCA champion, will be in a third RHR truck next year. An associate sponsor will be Lofton Cattle the team is looking for primary sponsorship.
Did RHR just bring in a pay for play driver?

They say they plan to run full time next season, but since they don't have sponsorship lined up, I don't see how that's possible. I mean JB didn't have full sponsorship lined up and ended up getting dumped. And if they're just bringing him in based on the money from the associate sponsor that I can (for now) only assume is a family business, then yeah I'd call that pay for play...YUCK!

Wow what a morning to wake up to. Huge coming and goings in the CWTS.
Brian Scott signs with Braun racing and will race the NNS next year.
Brain's dad who owns Scott eXpress racing is selling all equipment (toyota trucks) to Kyle Busch.
Terry Cook effective immediately is released from HT motorsports #25 Cajun racing truck. He'll start and parl Phil Parson's #91 MSRP for the next two races. Mike Bliss reutrns to the truck series for the final two races in the #25.

Man I hadn't even made it to Jayski yet today, and obviously I've missed alot. Guess I know what I'm spending my evening doing...trying to make sense of everything out in the news the last few days.

Beth nice article on the front page. Obviously it went to press before the second practice. Thorsport drivers took 1st and second in practice. With Suater leading over Crafton. Wonder if they're setting thier truck up for the finish rather than the start of the race. Either way no chance of me missing tonights race.

Thanks! Yeah it was submitted before the practice results were out. I caught the last few trucks qualifying when my hubby and I got home from work...congrats to Johnny Sauter on winning the pole. Friday the 13th, and the 13 truck is sitting on the pole. It would be great to see him head to victory lane again tonight. I've got the DVR set, and I'll be kicking back to watch this race tomorrow after work. I'll be back after I'm done to share my thoughts as usual.
BTW...I'm glad this thread has turned into more conversation than just taking the last post from each other

Okay no race spoilers here. I'll wait until tomorrow sometime to chat about the race. Althought...interesting interview with Kyle Bush and Ray dunlap after the race. Don't know if Kyle was being coy or His upstart team is in real trouble getting off the ground.

I will say this. I think next year in the shop talk forum we should start a season long truck seires thread. No one subject, maybe open they eyes of soe othe the lurkers and other that don't frequent the games section.
Same could be done with NNS. I really think of shop talk as news / debate and cup series thread unless something "big" happens in trucks or NNS.

I'd love to get a thread started. Before, there weren't a whole lot of people interested in talking about the trucks, so most posts went unanswered. I know we still don't have a ton of people talking about the truck series, but we've had some great conversations so far this year. I'm already working on my first column for next season with all the preview info since so much has come out in the news the last few weeks.
And down to the race....I thought Kevin wasn't going to win when I accidentally went to nascar.com last night during the race and saw his truck sideways. As usual...a great race. Congratulations to the oldest champion in one of NASCAR's touring series
Now next week, he just needs to seal up that owner's championship for KHI.
With 4th through 6th (coincidentally all drivers who have gotten their first win this season) separated by only 25 points, so much can happen next week. These guys are fighting to be at the banquet, and I'm sure Colin Braun is incredibly frustrated with not finishing this race and dropping two spots to sixth. It'll be great to see who comes out on top next week.
I'm interested in a little more details about Kyle's truck team. He seems to truly be frustrated in getting that shop built and the delays that have come along with it.

KBFan- A truck thread sounds like a cool idea. I've been watching the trucks more and more these past couple of years. The series still has some tough hombres' that put the hammer down. Junkyard dogs going for the championship.
Kyle is his own worst enemy. He looked into the camera and whined about delays in getting the truck team up and running. Who wants to knock themselves out working for Kyle? I like Kyle simply because he can be such a jackass at times and gets my blood to boil.
If it wasn't for Kyle,Denny,Brad,Tony or Kurt I would be bored stupid and give up watching the Cup side of racing.
