So was Montoya right or wrong or was it just an accident?  Check out the Busch Breakdown today for my opinion.

Hey there Girly ! Welcome to the Forum ! Well I've Raced everyting from Hobby Stock to Super Stock back in the Day and more recently have started playing around in Open-Wheeled Modified since my Youngest Son ..took up the Sport ! I have already posted that , I think it was a Rookie mistake on Juan's Part. You could tell by his radio conversation..that he was quite pumped , prior to getting involved with Scott . I realize some folks have stated that Scott came down on Juan but I believe it probably was a 50 / 50 deal had all things been equal . But it was not ...Montoya had the fresher tires and you never take out a Team Mate..
especially with Mucho Grande Laps to Go ! Juan could have easily waited for a easier opportunity ! Now having said that ,  I do believe Scott over-reacted...it is not the 1st time this sort of thing has happened and won't be the last ..Eh !  So congrats to Montoya ..he is the Real Deal ..but will have to be a little more patient the next time around. So I guess to answer your question ..yes I believe Juan was a little over aggressive given the circumstances..Ty !  Wink Cheesy

in my opinion it was 100 percent scott pruetts fault for cutting down on JPM. it's called racing the object is to win not settle for 2nd place when you know you have the best car.like someone else said pruett is not jpm's team mate Reed sorinson and david stremme are his team mates pruett is a road corse only driver and a big WHINNER at that  Grin

Very good point.  He was in a team car but not exactly a team mate.  I don't think it was all Montoya's fault either--sure he might have gotten a little impatient but that makes him no different than a host of other NASCAR drivers who have gotten impatient, overzealous, and punted a slower car out of the way and in Montoya's case I think it was at least by accident.  He dove in there but I truly don't think he expected Pruett to cut down on him.  As for Pruett, he doesn't go blameless either.  If he knew he was so much slower on his older tires, why did he cut down and try to press the issue?

Toni, my first impression -- which still stands -- was that Pruett appeared to enter the turn pretty high, giving JPM the impression that he was going to give him (JPM) the bottom. It also looked as though Pruett did cut down. And how did Pruett NOT KNOW that JPM was freakin' haulin' through the field?!

Pruett is a stock car road racing vet...he should have accounted for JPM, the circumstances and his responsibility in the matter in post race interviews.

Besides, isn't rubbin, son, racin?
