Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis once again hosted Speedfest this week and it culminated with races for ARCA and CRA on Friday night. After a 75 race winless drought, Frank Kimmel finally put his new ThorSport team in the Winner’s Circle for his 75th win of his career. Kimmel held off Brennan Poole, who mounted a spirited charge with fresh tires over the final 30 laps along with a late charge by Kevin Swindell after a late race caution. Kimmel is now four races shy of tying the all-time win record for the ARCA series.

While 50 year-old Kimmel proved that old age and treachery will win out over youth and enthusiasm, Kyle Benjamin continued to alert the world to his driving talents, becoming the youngest driver in the history of the CRA series to score a win. The 14 year-old dominated the race after Erik Darnell and Brian Campbell wrecked while racing for the lead early in the event. Benjamin has now won at Winchester Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway, two of the most storied short tracks in the state of Indiana.
