UNOH and Kentucky Speedway Extend Sponsorship Agreement

Amy Henderson · Friday October 12, 2012

Kentucky Speedway and the University of Northwestern Ohio joined forces to extend their partnership for 2013. UNOH added three years to its sponsorship package for the Camping World Truck Series UNOH 300, making a total of five years that the university and the Speedway will have partnered to bring the Truck Series race to the fans. The UNOH 225 will be run on Thursday night, June 27, 2013 as part of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend.

UNOH, a private university founded in 1920 and based in Lima, Ohio, has a competitive motorsports education program, and have used sponsorships within NASCAR and other racing series to market the program. Students in the program, which began in 1992, learn many different aspects of the motorsports industry, including building racecars and engines. Students can get the opportunity to work with race teams, including NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace’s dirt racing team, providing them the chance to get hands-on experience in a competitive environment.

UNOH president Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis says, “The opportunities this relationship provides for our current students, the exposure of UNOH to our future students and the business opportunities that the staff at Kentucky Speedway provides makes extending this partnership an easy decision.”

Kentucky Speedway will also provide UNOH with promotional activities and is proud to support the school. “UNOH is a terrific partner and a tremendous asset to the motorsports community. We are proud to continue our partnership and look forward to helping UNOH continue its impressive growth for years to come,” said Kentucky Speedway General Manger Mark Simendinger said Friday.
