The Frontstretch: Dillon, Logano Lead Nationwide Series Practice Sessions at Kansas Speedway by Summer Bedgood -- Friday October 19, 2012

Two practice sessions were held for the NASCAR Nationwide Series on Friday at Kansas Speedway and the new surface created some blisteringly fast speeds. Championship contender Austin Dillon set the pace in the first practice session of the day at a speed of 179.826 mph. Sprint Cup Series regular Joey Logano was second, followed by Sam Hornish Jr., Ryan Blaney, and Justin Allgaier.

Logano took over the top spot in Nationwide Series final practice at speeds of 182.692 mph. Fellow Sprint Cup Series driver Paul Menard was second, followed by Kenny Wallace in third. Points leader Elliott Sadler and Cole Whitt rounded out the top five.

Other notables in final practice include Austin Dillon (7th), Kyle Busch (9th), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (10th), and Danica Patrick (12th).

Nationwide Series qualifying will run on Saturday at 12PM ET on SPEED followed by the race at 3PM ET on ESPN2.
