Kasey Kahne Breaks Track Record, Wins Pole

Summer Bedgood · Friday October 19, 2012

Kasey Kahne set a new track record at Kansas Speedway to win the pole for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400. Kahne’s lap of 28.219 sec and 191.360 mph beat out Mark Martin’s time of 28.237. Martin will start on the front row alongside Kahne for Sunday’s race. Last week’s winner Clint Bowyer was third, followed by Kyle Busch and Aric Almirola to round out the top five.

Championship points leader Brad Keselowski will have some ground to make up on Sunday, as he starts in the 25th position. Meanwhile, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin qualified seventh and ninth, respectively.

The Hollywood Casino 400 begins at 5:30 PM ET on ESPN.
