Danica Patrick Responds to Petty Criticism

Summer Bedgood · Thursday February 13, 2014

Danica Patrick refuses to let the naysayers get under her skin.

Danica Patrick pays no mind to any criticism, even from that of Richard Petty. In other words, she’s not taking the bait.

“People have said things in the past, and they’re going to say things in the future, said Patrick. “I still say the same thing: that everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. People are going to judge what he said, whether they judge it well or not, and I’m just not going to.”

Recently, Richard Petty was asked whether or not Patrick would ever win a race. Petty responded, “(She would) if everyone else stayed home.” He went on to say that she only garners attention because she’s a female.

Patrick’s response came during NASCAR’s Annual Media Day at Daytona International Speedway.
