Keven Wood Back In No. 21 U.S. Air Force F-150 At The Milwaukee Mile

Wednesday June 18, 2008

Harrisburg, NC (June 18, 2008)-Keven Wood has had a few weeks off from racing and is looking forward to getting back in the seat and behind the wheel of the Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 for the Camping World RV Sales 200 this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile.

Keven has not been stranger to the race track, as he’s been spotting during practice for his cousin Jon Wood, who has driven the no. 21 the U.S. Air Force F-150 the past two weekends at Dover and Michigan. Keven also assisted with spotting during practice of the no. 21 Wood Brothers Sprint Cup car. However, being back in the driver’s seat is what Keven aspires to do, and after a strong run at Mansfield, he’s looking forward to building on that performance.

Keven commented on his run at Mansfield as he looks ahead to The Milwaukee Mile, “I’m looking forward to going to Milwaukee. Coming out of Mansfield, I feel it went a lot better than expected. I didn’t think we would be that close to the top 10 that quickly. Even though we finished 22nd, the truck was a lot better than it showed. I was really pleased with that. Milwaukee is a whole new track. It has a little more speed and its a little flatter, but it’s just another race track.”

Crew Chief John Monsam is also seeking a good run with Keven behind the wheel again. He said, “Working with Keven again is going to be great. So far, he’s proven to be smart and not too aggressive, but when it’s time to go; he’ll go. He has been particularly impressive with qualifying runs in the first two races that we’ve worked together and he’s really stepped it up when it was time to go. That’s all you can really ask for in a rookie race truck driver. You want the driver to be a little on the conservative side but, when the chips are down and it’s time to go, Keven seems to recognize that and he does well at those times; I’m happy about that.”

Keven is also excited to be representing the U.S. Air Force this weekend. He said, “I’m honored to be driving for the U.S. Air Force. I’m looking forward to trying to give them a good performance and hopefully building awareness for their recruiting efforts.”

Watch Keven Wood and the no. 21 Wood Brothers Racing U.S. Air Force Ford F-150 race the Camping World RV Sales 200 on Friday, June 20th at 9:00pm ET on Speed.
