RAYBESTOS® ROOKIE CONTENDER QUOTES FOR THE CAMPING WORLD RV SALES 200 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY, JUNE 28, PAGE 5.

LANDON CASSILL, No. 5 NATIONAL GUARD CHEVROLET: WHAT HAPPENED? “We got wrecked. That’s all I’ve got to say. National Guard Chevy was really good, really good today and I’m really proud of my guys. Bobby might have something against me. I think it was after Nashville he was upset with me. I tried talking to him at Kentucky and tried to work things out but I guess not. We can build ‘em faster than he can. Like I just said I think we got wrecked by the 25. I think there was an incident in Nashville that he wasn’t happy with and I tried to work it out with him face to face and that wasn’t enough.”

DARIO FRANCHITTI IN THE No. 40 FASTENAL DODGE WAS THE TOP RAYBESTOS ROOKIE IN TODAY’S RACE.

NOTES:

· Franchitti scored a 13th-place finish and took Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the seventh time in 2008.

· Franchitti is the fourth different driver to take top rookie honors in the last four races. This is his best Nationwide Series finish since he placed 11th at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway (race No. 8).

· UNOFFICIALLY Bryan Clauson leads Franchitti by seven points (118-111) in the overall Raybestos Rookie standings.

FRANCHITTI: “We had a top-10 car and yet again had some mistakes in the pits. It’s a real shame because we’ve had good cars pretty much every time I’ve ran that car this year. We’ve given away upwards of 30 spots with loose wheels and leaving track bar wrenches in and stuff. So that’s really disappointing because the car has been fast and we threw away a top-10 today. We fought back, though. The car was unbelievably loose [smiles]. The first 15 laps I was so loose. On the long run the car was pretty good, a little tight in the center but again track position was just so important today and we threw away upwards of 15 spots with that mistake on pit road. Looking forward to driving the Aerosmith Guitar Hero car tomorrow because it seems pretty good as well.” YOU GAMBLED WITH A TWO-TIRE STOP EARLY IN THE RACE FOR TRACK POSITION. DID THE CAR DRIVE WELL AFTER THAT? “No, it was even looser [laughs]. I was hanging on. I was kind of a road block for a minute there. I was trying to hold as much track position as I could without getting wrecked, basically, and that was what I did. We took two again and made some adjustments and it was better but we had lost 15 spots.” YOU GOT RACING EXPERIENCE HERE TODAY AND THAT WILL HELP YOU TOMORROW. “I think so but again the Nationwide car and the Sprint Cup car are so different. It’ll take me five or 10 laps to get in the rhythm of driving the Cup car again tomorrow but I think I learned a couple of things today I might be able to use tomorrow.”

PATRICK CARPENTIER, No. 9 WISK DODGE: “We were loose a little bit at the beginning should have known that with the other kind of tires, the radial or whatever it is made it loose at the beginning and then the track just kept getting tighter, tighter, tighter. We didn’t adjust enough for it. I was really tight. I was just chattering the front tires entry to mid-corner there a little bit and had to use the brakes to rotate the car a little bit. We were losing time every lap, a few tenths here and there. That was pretty much it but that’s pretty much where the car was so we ran there all day.” IT SEEMED LIKE THE TEMPERATURE GOT COOLER AS THE RACE WENT ON. DID THAT MAKE YOUR CAR TIGHT? “Yeah, more rubber on the track and the track got cooler as the day went on. Both these things made it tighter and tighter as we ran. And it was already tight so we kind of stayed behind the whole race. Every change we made just kind of brought us back to where we were before but it was still too tight.” DID YOU LEARN A LOT FOR TOMORROW? “Yeah, I learned a lot, the race line stuff but that track is not too bad. I think you just need some front end to rotate it in the middle there. But I tried a lot of different lines and gained a couple of tenths a lap so that was a little bit better, just dragging the brakes a bit more, but still need more front so I learned that for tomorrow.”
