Wood Brothers Racing Heads to Kentucky for the Built Ford Tough 225
Friday July 18, 2008
Harrisburg, NC (July 18, 2008)-Jon Wood is back behind the wheel of the no. 21 Barnhill Group Ford F-150 for Saturday night’s Ford sponsored event at Kentucky Speedway.
Kentucky Speedway has been a good track for Jon. Out of the five starts that he has there, he sat on the pole in 2003, holds three top 10’s and one top five finish. With these results, Jon is eager to get back onto the high speed one and one-half mile tri-oval after taking a few weeks off from the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series.
Jon commented about his previous runs at Kentucky, “Historically, Kentucky has always been a good track for me. It’s fun going there because it’s a Ford sponsored race and I’m a Ford driver. We’ve also got The Barnhill Group back on the race truck this weekend as our primary sponsor and we’re just looking to give them a good finish. I’m also looking forward to getting back into the truck after Keven [Wood] has been in it for the past few races and that’s been really cool being able to help him out– he did well. It was really neat to see the other side, from a pit wall perspective and seeing what goes on during a race, but I’m excited to get back behind the wheel and go racing again.”
Watch Jon Wood and the no. 21 Wood Brothers Racing in the Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday, July 19th with coverage beginning at 6:30pm ET on Speed.
