Colin Braun And Con-way Freight Keep On Trucking In 2009
Thursday July 31, 2008
CONCORD, N.C. — Roush Fenway Racing announced today that Con-way
Freight will again sponsor the No. 6 Ford F-150 with Colin Braun behind
the wheel in the 2009 NASCAR Truck Series. The 19-year-old Texan teamed
with Con-way Freight this year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and
is pursuing the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award.
“We have so much support from the folks at Con-way Freight, all the
way from the management to the truck drivers,” Braun said. “I’ve
had the opportunity to meet a lot of them this year and I’m proud to
be a part of their team. I’m really pleased that they will continue
to be a part of our team as well next season. I think with the
experience I have gained this year we can be contenders for a lot of
race wins, and hopefully the 2009 championship.”
“We’re excited to once again sponsor the No. 6 Con-way Freight Ford
F-150 with Roush Fenway Racing,” said John Labrie, president, Con-way
Freight. “Colin Braun is having a great rookie year. He’s a fierce
competitor whose dedication and spirit mirrors that of our over 20,000
employees. We’re confident 2009 will be a breakthrough year for Colin
and the No. 6 truck. We’re looking forward to seeing him take a
checkered flag and joining him in the winner’s circle during the 2009
Truck Series campaign.”
The 2009 season will be Braun’s second full year in the NASCAR Truck
Series. To date he is leading the Raybestos Rookie points, and has
earned one top-five and four top-10 finishes.
