Hornaday in Search of Third PIR Win:
Ron Hornaday and the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) No. 33 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) team are looking to build upon last year’s second-place finish and win their seventh race of 2008. A win in Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 would give Hornaday, a two-time winner at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR), his third victory at the one-mile track. In 13 Truck Series starts at PIR, Hornaday has recorded two wins (1998 and 1999), eight top-fives, 11 top-10s and one pole (1995).

Celebrate Veterans Day at PIR with KHI and VFW:
Phoenix International Raceway (PIR), Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) have united in a unique partnership that will celebrate the accomplishments and bravery of current and veteran armed forces personnel. In August, KHI co-owners Kevin and DeLana Harvick visited a Glendale, Arizona-area VFW post as part of a Military Appreciation event sponsored by all three entities that included a barbecue lunch and autographs from Kevin Harvick for all who attended. PIR will celebrate veterans during pre-race activities prior to Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Truck Series race. PIR is also offering a special ticket package for the Lucas Oil 150. For $95, ticket buyers will receive one grandstand ticket to the race, admission to VFW’s hospitality event (food and drinks included) and a pre-race pit pass to be used prior to Friday night’s race. No. 33 to Carry VFW Colors at PIR for Final Time in 2008:
For the sixth and final time in the 2008 NASCAR Truck Series season, KHI’s No. 33 entry will carry the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States’ (VFW) logos and colors. Hornaday piloted the No. 33 VFW Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in the Spring, O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, two weeks ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway and last week at Texas Motor Speedway.

Harvick to Pilot KHI’s No. 2 Truck at PIR:
Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner Kevin Harvick will pilot the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado and be the teammate to Ron Hornaday in Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). In Harvick’s eight career NASCAR Truck Series starts at PIR, he has recorded two wins (2002 and 2003), three top-fives and three top-10s. Harvick’s win at PIR in 2002 marked the first Truck Series victory for KHI. Harvick is also one of 19 drivers who have recorded a win in all three of NASCAR’s elite series in their career.

“I have been pretty successful at Phoenix International Raceway over the years. I have had a lot of great races there and have two wins there, in 1998 and 1999. It’s a flat race track for the most part. It has a little more banking in turns one and two than in turns three and four. We have been really good this year on the flatter, shorter tracks. We’ve won at Memphis, Gateway and New Hampshire and all of those are a mile or half-mile tracks. We have the same truck that we won back-to-back races with at Gateway and New Hampshire, and I think that it will be good at Phoenix.”

Chassis No. 027 to Make Third Start:
Chassis No. 027 has been chosen to be Ron Hornaday’s primary truck for this weekend’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. In the truck’s two-race history, Hornaday has driven it to back-to-back wins at Gateway (Ill.) International Raceway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Ron Hornaday and the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) No. 33 overcame mid-race adversity after a caution came out as they were on pit road, putting them on the tail end of the lead lap, to win their sixth race of the season. Hornaday led a total 45 of the 147 laps, including the final 40 laps en route to his 39th career NASCAR Truck Series victory. The win also closed the gap to six points between point’s leader Johnny Benson and Hornaday in the Truck Series championship standings.
