Colin Braun on racing at Memphis Motorsports Park:
“I like racing at Memphis, but that track has not been kind to me. My
first race there was the Nationwide race in 2007 that had a record
number of cautions and I was caught up in a few of them. Then last year
we were having a decent run in the truck, but had brake problems. In
those two races I’ve learned a lot about what not to do, but I’m
still searching for what really works to run well at Memphis. We have a
fast truck and I know Erik Darnell had some good runs with it last year.
I just need to figure out a strategy to stay out of trouble, save my
equipment and be there at the end to contend for the win.”
Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Memphis Motorsports Park:
“Memphis is a tough track. Colin is still learning how to navigate
the short tracks since he doesn’t have as much experience on them as
the other drivers do because that is not his background. The extreme
heat will also be a challenge for the drivers and pit crews alike.
Staying hydrated and focused will be vital. Pit stops will be important
to helping Colin gain or keep his track position this weekend.”
