Almirola to Make 100th-Career NASCAR Start at LVMS
Wednesday September 30, 2009
Las Vegas, NV (September 21, 2009)-Aric Almirola will make his 100th-career NASCAR start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday, September 26, 2009 in the running of the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
Almirola has a combined total of NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series races and will make his 100th-start piloting the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals Billy Ballew Motorsports entry.
In their 100th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start, Billy Ballew Motorsports posted their first victory in 2004, coincidently at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The team has 10 prior starts on the 1.5-mile speedway just off the Las Vegas Strip scoring one win, two top-five and two top-10 finishes.
Almirola has one prior NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where he posted a 10th-place finish. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is also where Almirola made his debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2007. He has two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the track.
“Las Vegas is always a date on the racing calendar that everyone looks forward to,” Aric Almirola said. “Most teams stay right at a casino on the stripe and we all probably spend too much money on gambling. But all-in-all it’s fun to race in Las Vegas.
Since Las Vegas Motor Speedway was repaved, it has made it extremely fast! I’m sure it’s awesome for the fans, with two and three-wide racing going on.”
The Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated to begin at 6:00pm PT at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Saturday, September 26, 2009.
SPEED will broadcast the telecast live beginning at 5:30pm PT (8:30pm ET) with MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio coverage beginning at 5:45pm PT (8:45pm ET).
