Chris Jones WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race in Mountain Dew 250
Tuesday November 3, 2009
· Chris Jones led twice for three laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in the Mountain Dew 250. Jones claimed WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors for the first time this season. This is the first race that Jones has led in 22 career starts.
· Jones was credited with a 30th-place finish after he was sidelined by clutch failure.
· JONES QUOTES: YOU LED SOME LAPS TODAY. “We’re happy to win the WIX award. It was real good in the draft. We got up there and led a few laps. We stayed out the first caution just to stay up there and lead and fell back but were able to come back and work our way up through there slowly, just kind of biding our time. We ended up losing the clutch. The caution that came out right before we come in I pushed the clutch in to downshift it and there was nothing there. It’s a shame. We had a good truck. I think we’d have had an easy top-10.”
