Ron Hornaday Jr. WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race in WinStar World Casino 350

Tuesday November 10, 2009

·         Ron Hornaday Jr. led three times for 36 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s WinStar World Casino 350.  Hornaday Jr. claimed WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors for the 15th time in 2009.

·         Hornaday Jr. has now led 21 times in 19 races this season for a total of 1,091 laps.

·         Hornaday Jr. posted a third-place finish, his 14th top-five in 23 races this season.  He claimed his 63rd top-five in 139 career superspeedway starts.  He has led 84 times in those starts for a total of 3,945 laps.

·         UNOFFICIALLY Hornaday Jr. leads the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings by 197 points over second-place Matt Crafton and holds a 355 point edge over third-place Mike Skinner.

·         HORNADAY JR. QUOTES:  “I wish I would have led the most laps overall.  It’s always an honor to run WIX Filters and all the support they give our team.  Finishing third, we don’t deserve it but we’ll take it but other than that, a great night, and a great points night.  We’ll go on and see what we’ve got the next two races.”  AS WELL AS YOU’VE RUN ON THE SUPERSPEEDWAYS THIS SEASON, IS A NIGHT LIKE TONIGHT A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING?  “Definitely.  The problem is I’ve got to race points.  Kyle got into me and roughed us up a little bit.  I’m not going to whine about it.  That’s his job to go out there and race hard.  Once I burned the rear tires off I couldn’t catch him.  That’s how racing goes I guess.”
