Brett Butler makes first start at Daytona with RWR

Friday February 12, 2010

This weekend at the Daytona International Speedway, Brett Butler will start his bid for the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck (NCWT) series Rookie of the Year title in the #47 Fuel Doctor Chevy.

Driving for Rick Ware Racing (RWR), this will be Butler’s first attempt to qualify for Daytona in the NCWT series.  “I’m excited to make my first start at Daytona, and with a great sponsor like Fuel Doctor on board, we have an opportunity for a strong finish,” said Butler.

Although it’s his first start at Daytona, this is not Butler’s first rodeo with RWR.  After qualifying 23rd for the NCWT series race in Miami last November, Butler gained valuable seat time by running the entire race and bringing the #08 Fuel Doctor Chevy to a solid 24th place finish.

After running the full USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup series and finishing 9th in the ‘09 point standings, Butler will need to draw upon every bit of experience in his young career to survive Daytona.

“Everyone says Daytona is the easiest place to qualify and the hardest place to race.  With the close quarters drafting and the possibility of the big one happening at any moment, I know the race is going to throw me a curve ball I’ve never seen before.  At the same time, I’m itching to see the green flag drop,” said Butler.

Fuel Doctor USA will be the primary sponsor for Butler at Daytona as they were at Miami in the season closer.

“The Fuel Doctor USA guys are great and they really back this team.  We gave them a good intro in NASCAR last year and are excited about their return for Daytona, stated Butler.

Rick Ware Racing worked with Brett Butler and SS Greenlight Racing at the close of the 2009 season and a new partnership has developed.  RWR is utilizing the Owner Points from SS Greenlight Racing and then gained the number 47 from Andy Hillenburg for marketing aspects for RWR’s sponsor, Fuel Doctor FD-47.

“Bobby Dotter and I go way back and he is a great team owner and mentor as we step back into the Camping World Truck Series,” stated owner Rick Ware. “SS Greenlight allowed us to learn and develop in just three races last year with them and we feel very good about our progression as a contender for 2010.”
