CARMICHAEL ON ATLANTA: Saturday’s running of the Atlanta 200 at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway will mark Carmichael’s second start at the track. The Florida native has one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start (2009) at AMS last season. Carmichael started 15th and finished 21st during the March event.
CARMICHAEL ON TRUCKS: Three weeks ago at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway Carmichael embarked on his first full season in the Truck Series. A mid-race crash ended the night for the No. 4 Monster Energy Team, but they head to Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway with renewed confidence after running up front before the crash occurred. Last season Carmichael competed in 18 Truck Series events and scored two top-10 finishes during his first season of NASCAR competition at the elite level.
NAME IN LIGHTS: The inaugural Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship will take place on Sunday at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The Supercross race is the first event to be named after the Five-Time AMA SX Champion.
DOUBLE DUTY: After running the Truck Series race on Saturday afternoon Carmichael will hop on airplane and fly to Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for the Monster Energy Supercross Championship event. For the past three seasons Carmichael has designed the Supercross track at Daytona. TO COOL FOR SCHOOL: On Monday Carmichael will host his first ever riding school, Ricky Carmichael University. It is the first time a school of its kind has been offered to the public. All 100 spots are sold out. Riders will have the opportunity to ride with Carmichael and will learn the in-and-outs of what it takes to be a Supercross Champion.
BEHIND THE WHEEL: Carmichael will pilot chassis No. 7 on the banks of AMS. A brand new chassis that was completed over the winter will make its race debut this Saturday.
BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW: Carmichael is the proud owner of a legends car. You can often find him taking laps in the famed No. 4 car around the dirt track at his motocross riding farm outside of Tallahassee (Fla.)

IN THE BOOTH: Even though Carmichael no longer competes on two wheels he still shows his support from the booth. Earlier this year he provided fans with non-stop Supercross action at Anaheim1, San Francisco, Indianapolis and last week in Atlanta on SPEED and CBS. This weekend he will once again provide fans with his perspective from behind the action during the Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Daytona.
STAY UP TO SPEED: Flag to flag coverage of the Atlanta 200 can be seen LIVE on SPEED at 1:30 p.m. EST on March 6, 2010. Tune into SPEED Friday and Saturday morning for LIVE coverage of practice and qualifying. For information on SPEED TV listings visit www.speedtv.com
CARMICHAEL ON CONFIDENCE: “I cannot tell you how much more confident I am this season than I was last season. Several races last year I didn’t feel like I deserved to be out there. This season I know I can race with them. I really noticed it in Daytona how much going to a race track for the second time helps. The same thing with Atlanta this weekend. Last year, I was concentrating on learning the track and what line to run and now I feel like we can actually unload and go after it. Heading to the race track has always been fun for me, but now it really is.”
