Tuesday August 31, 2010
PREVIEW: JAMES BUESCHER (NO. 31 WOLF PACK RENTALS CHEVROLET)
VENUE: KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY (1.5-MILE OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES (RACE 18 OF 25)
DATE: SEPTEMBER 3, 2010 (150 LAPS, 225 MILES)
BUESCHER AT KENTUCKY… James Buescher will be making his second NCWTS start at Kentucky Speedway. In his prior attempt, he started in the 21st-position and finished in seventh. Additionally, he has made one NASCAR Nationwide Series start in 2008, where he started in 17th and finished in 14th-place and he scored a win at the 1.5-mile track in the ARCA series in 2009.
BUESCHER ON COMPETING AT KENTUCKY: “I was able to visit Victory Lane at Kentucky in the ARCA series, so I’m really excited about going back there. I’m a big fan of 1.5-mile tracks, and I’ve had some strong runs at Kentucky in Nationwide and Trucks, so I definitely think we’ll be good there.”
CHASSIS INFORMATION… Crew chief Michael Shelton has chosen Turner Motorsports chassis No. 006 for Buescher to run at Kentucky. This particular Chevrolet has been on-track at Dover, Michigan and Iowa where Buescher finished second, 16th and fifth respectively.
LOOKING BACK… Contact with another competitor late in the race left Buescher with a 12th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway. Two speedy pit stops to repair the minimal damage he incurred during the contact allowed Buescher to stay on the lead lap of the race and finish just outside of the top-10. Buescher qualified his Wolf Pack Rentals Chevrolet in the third position and, despite battling an ill-handling truck, ran well the majority of the evening.
THE SEASON SO FAR… In the 14 NCWTS races he’s run this season, Buescher has recorded an average starting position of 7.1 and an average finishing position of 11.3. He’s scored four top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes. Additionally, he’s qualified within the top-five eight times.
MOST POPULAR DRIVER… NASCAR has created an online ballot for the fans to vote for their favorite driver for the Most Popular Driver Award. Fans are allowed to vote once a day, until the polls close on November 12, 2010. The results of the balloting will be announced at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series banquet at the end of the season. Go to www.nascar.com to cast your vote!
