The racing season has arrived! Gone are the boring weekends wondering what in the heck to watch. Now it is a no brainer"¦turn on NASCAR racing! The Bud Shootout is one of those perfect “Get em in the racing mood” made for television events. Do you have a friend that thinks stock car racing is third behind watching paint dry and yacht racing in the top three boring things to watch? If so get him or her in front of the television Saturday night for a little good old fashioned match race racing! There is a lot of money and pride on the line. (And no pesky points to race for either!) I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to hear it now"¦”Gentlemen Start Your Engines!”

Handicapping the Race
Testing might give us a few clues as to how the new rules will work out. Don’t look for the new Dodge Charger to be that fast for a single lap, but in the draft it could be a monster! The Bow Tie brigade showed some strength in testing last month. Hendricks motors were consistently at the top of the speed charts no matter which driver was behind the wheel. Traditionally the Roush Racing teams play the handling game and don’t always show what they have under the hood in testing sessions. But the Dale Jarrett run shows that those Ford motors still have the horsies running wild! Will this be the year the DEI dominance at Restrictor Plate tracks is challenged? At least for this event I think so. Crank up those motors and let’s get racing!
