TweetFantasy Insight: Phoenix (Dazzling Them in the Desert)
Dennis Michelsen · Thursday November 10, 2005
If any track that isn’t a short track deserves to have two races each year, it is Phoenix International Raceway. The combination of great racing and great facility makes this a no-brainer to schedule twice. Having this track as part of the Chase is also a wise move. This is a driver’s track that requires outstanding car control ability to survive! This week we should once again see the Roush drivers up front. Tony Stewart, with just two races to go, might start playing it safe, but expect the others to be charging hard.
Looking beyond the Chasers, despite never finding Victory Lane here Jeff Gordon has the second best average finish to Mark Martin. Don’t look too far past the Roush and the Hendrick drivers when making your picks this week.
