Can you imagine how many more tickets they would sell if guys could race side by side all day? Grinding the track like the folks in Dover did several years ago would make that a reality!
Congrats to Bristol Motor Speedway for having the coolest “Pace Truck” this year. Although at BMS wouldn’t a “Pace Wrecker” be fitting?
Oops they did it again. Cagey veterans Rusty Wallace and Sterling Marlin made “Rookie” mistakes pitting while the red flag was displayed. Both guys cost themselves a chance for the win with that bonehead move.
Race Grade B
Bristol could use a little fixin’ to make this trully “Racin’ the Way It Oughta Be” even more!
F for Bobby Hamilton Jr
At least Bobby Junior was honest after causing the big wreck when he said, “Leave it to me to do something stupid and tear up a bunch of cars up. I’m sure I am a pretty good SOB right now with everybody. I just screwed up.” No one was going to disagree with that!
D for Crew Chief Doug Richert
This is no rookie Crew Chief but he made a rookie mistake. Whenever you have shown that you have the fastest car on the track never dare fate by staying out on old tires with more than 80 laps left when teams are having tire issues!
C for Scott Riggs
Another strong performance for a guy that is one of the most underated drivers in Cup! Imagine what this guy would do with Hendricks Crews instead of just Hendricks motors.
B for Kyle Petty
He once suggested that the folks at Bristol should flood the place and turn it into a big catfish farm, but maybe he would think twice about that statement after Sunday. He needed two “Lucky Dog” passes to get back on the lead lap but grabbed his first top ten in over 2 years!
A for Kevin Harvick
“Hot Wheels” Harvick would have been my choice last week if his Crew Chief had not been suspended. “Happy” showed that no matter who makes the call up on the box he can get it done on the track winning from the back of the pack!
