TweetViva La Roushland-Fantasy Insight- Nextel Cup Las Vegas
Dennis Michelsen · Wednesday March 8, 2006
Roush Racing has won five of the eight Nextel Cup races run here in the desert. That is a pretty impressive record indeed. Last season Jimmie Johnson and his Hendricks Racing team put on a great battle against Kurt Busch and his Roush Racing buddies.
Will it be more of the same this season? There is talk of tweaking this track to add a little more banking ala Miami Speedway with the progressive banking strategy that has been so successful. But this season the new Ford Fusion appears to be the most dominant car coming into the race this weekend.
Perhaps the one factor that may keep Crew Chiefs guessing is colder than normal weather expected. (www.raceweather.net) Teams tested in the warmer conditions and now face a big swing in temperatures and cloud conditions upon their return. But in the end the only character as likely as Elvis to show up in Victory Lane is the Cat in the Hat Jack Roush!
