Full Moon Fever- Busch Making the Grade from Phoenix

Pace Laps
Would NASCAR please make up their mind on tires? Going back to the harder tires for this race had to give Crew Chiefs fits as they have spent all season getting used to the softer compounds.

Fourteen cautions in just 200 laps? Maybe these guys should be nicknamed the “Not Quite Ready for Prime Time Drivers.”

The longest green flag run all night was the last 35 laps, but they sure tried to wreck with three very close calls!

F for David Gilliland
Tough luck for a guy starting his first Busch Series race when Gilliland was a victim during caution number two. This guy made a splash on the NASCAR West Division last season and should be upwardly mobile based on his talent!

D for Clint Bowyer
This new up and coming young gun has been quite impressive this season. But rule number one when you return to the track with a damaged car is to NOT ruin anyone elses day. Clint violated that unwritten rule when he turned Boston Reid.

C for Shane Hmiel
Fourteen cautions in a Busch race and none of them blamed on Shane Hmiel? Now THAT is progress!

B for David Stremme
Best of the non-Busch Whackers, David Stremme got a much needed strong finish bringing his NAVY Dodge home in third place.
Now that this team has gotten one strong finish look for more of the same and maybe even a win.

A for Greg Biffle
Combination of great pit strategy, good luck, and outstanding driving gave this team their first win of the year. No one drives a loose race car better than Biffle.
