Pace Laps
Week one without Jeanne Zalasko was wonderful!
Jeff Hammond in a Tux in Alabama? Maybe this is more good news and Mr. Hammond came to the race telecast from a job interview and will be leaving soon! (But please not to the PBR broadcasts)
Charities all over were cheering after the “Big One.” No other track gets more donations of wrecked parts for charity acutions than Talladega!
F for NASCAR
Come on folks replace the Restrictor Plates NOW before someone gets killed! You can put up softer walls and mandate all the safety equipment you want, but you are playing with fire with the quad-annual “Big Ones.”
D for Mark Martin’s Luck
Mr. Consistency couldn’t avoid trouble again on one of NASCAR’s craziest tracks.
C for Ken Schrader
He avoided trouble early and then found a way to work the draft to the top ten at the end. Nice to see one of the lower budget teams prevail against the money teams!
B for Tony Stewart
Out drove the eventual winner Jeff Gordon, but once again was handicapped with a slower car. Look for “Smoke” to get on a roll at the right time of the year and be in the hunt for the title this season!
A for Jeff Gordon’s Pepsi Team
That car was a rocket! I am shocked it passed post race inspection. No one else was able to pass on the outside without help all day. (BTW Stew, you are in trouble for violating the Pepsi restrictions on Sunday!)
