Taming the Monster-Fantasy Insight

Taming the Monster-Fantasy Insight
Dover International Speedway
Racing at Dover is not just about being fast it is all about survival. For years these Cup races were 500 miles, thankfully they were reduced by 100 miles in 1998. But even at the shorter distance this is one tough racetrack! The concrete surface eats tires and zipping off laps in about 23 seconds a wreck behind you becomes a mess in front of you in a hurry! Last year Kasey Kahne looked to be on cruise control headed for his first Cup win when the monster took a bite out of his Dodge. As evidenced last year when Mark Martin survived for the win it is often better to be lucky than good…or perhaps a lot of both!
